Being all women, the environment is relaxed, safe, and very friendly. The WhatsApp group and social events (combined with coed sister hostels) made it so easy to make friends! Definitely stay here if you are considering it. Spacious and clean rooms as well. Excellent common area with hammocks, tables, kitchen, outdoor shower, etc. Towels and beach gear available to borrow for free.

The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The view from the window was beautiful. It’s only a 3-minute walk to the ocean. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.

Situated in Papa Bay Estates in the Hawaii Island region and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park reachable within 31 km, Country Cottage in Papa Bay features accommodation with free WiFi,... The cottage is a lovely "tiny house." It is off-grid, compact, well designed, and had everything I needed. I loved the screened in porch with a view of the ocean. It was so quiet and peaceful - I slept great there. It is off the beaten track but easy to find - a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. Yet is is not far from Kealakekua, Captain Cook town, Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park, and Ho`okena Beach. I enjoyed meeting and talking with Arthur, the host. I plan to stay there the next time I visit my family nearby.

Located within 13 km of Lava Tree State Park and 17 km of Lava Tree State Monument, Wild Blue Water provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Pahoa. Great room, bed and position. Great spot for a couple to relax and enjoy genuine peace, no passing traffic, no noticeable neighbours and no tv. Pool and outside spa were great and the viewing spot near the oceans edge was a delightful surprise.

The property is absolutely wonderful. Nice, natural landscaping that let's you feel immersed in the Hawaiian rainforest. Feels very secluded and private, while also feeling safe and welcoming. Its walking distance to a black sand, clothing optional, beach. I will definitely book here again when visiting the Big Island. I would feel safe here as a solo traveler. Stephen greeted us when we arrived to the property and was so welcoming. I immediately felt at ease in his presence. He gave us a tour and showed us to our rooms, let us know how to reach him if we needed anything. Our smoke alarm was going off one night and he came right over, checked it out and swapped the battery, fixing the problem. I traveled with a friend and we each had separate rooms. The house feels more home like, relaxing front porch, solid wood furniture, and everything you'd need. Both rooms were clean and beds comfortable. At first, I thought my bed may be too soft, but I slept SO good and woke with no pains, feeling refreshed, so it must have been just right. Bath and beach towels were in our rooms, a bathrobe, a list of hosted and local activities we may be interested in, and a little bowl of snacks too. I also appreciated they had sunscreen and bug spray available.
