My wife is a gardener and really appreciated all the fresh flowers inside. This was our first trip since COVID and we had some special needs that our hosts graciously accommodated. Best place we stayed during our vacation.

Each room is equipped with a TV. All rooms have a private bathroom. Everything was just perfect. Hazel gave us a warm welcome and showed us all we needed to know. The room was big and so cozy, and the view over the garden was lovely. Our bathroom was big as well and fitted every need you might have. Every morning was highlighted by the delicious breakfast. We could choose from a variety of choices (eggs, bacon, haggis, sausage, etc.) and help ourselves with juice and cereals. Outside we had plenty of space in their lovley garden to enjoy and just relax in one of the benches. Parking was never a problem and all in all it was a wonderful place for the first days of our trip.

Units are equipped with a private bathroom, while certain rooms also offer a terrace and others also have a garden view. Location of property was ideal being on a private access lane so it was very peaceful with lovely views. Room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

The nearest airport is Glasgow Prestwick Airport, 62 km from the bed and breakfast. The hotel was at a picture-perfect location with a beautiful river flowing alongside. The rooms were beautifully furnished Tatiana is an excellent host; we all loved her warmth and welcoming nature. The food tasted amazing. We strongly recommend her paneer butter masala. It was yummilicios and we had several portions during our stay. The cheesecake is also a must-try. The rooms felt a bit cold despite the maximum heating setting. We had a prompt visit to check the heating and were provided with portable heaters for both rooms for our comfort.

The edge of the beautiful Galloway Forest Park is only a few miles away, and Garlies Castle is a 10-minute drive from The Blackhorse Hotel. In the surrounding area you can visit Cairn Holy, a chambered cairn outside town. I was very comfortable and slept well. The room was clean and spacious. The location was great and gave me access to everything I wanted to do and easy walks to places for dining, shopping, activities and bus stops.

The Crown Hotel is situated in Newton Stewart in picturesque Wigtownshire, in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway. It features a restaurant and elegant rooms with original features.

Located at the front of the hotel, the Queen Street Bar & Restaurant is open to both the public and residents. With booth seats, it is occasionally host to live acoustic music and a live band on a Saturday evening. It features two large TVs and a pool table. With luxurious seating, the Knights restaurant serves an a la carte menu and a selection of after dinner drinks. The service was unmatched, every member of staff were helpful, efficient and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The restaurant menu was great - a lot of variety especially with the specials menu changing frequently too. Breakfast was also a winner, continental and a full Scottish breakfast if you wanted (you could pick as many or as less items as wanted). The hotel is more than 300 years old so it was lovely staying somewhere that holds a small amount of history.

The The Bruce Hotel, situated in Newton Stewart in the heart of beautiful Galloway, is a quality 20 bedroom 3-star hotel that offers good service, good food and good prices. It prides itself on its warm and welcoming atmosphere and friendliness. All rooms are en suite with full facilities including drink making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available within the public areas of the hotel and in some bedrooms upon request. The restaurant has a strong reputation for its extensive menu using local produce. All dishes are home cooked and freshly made. Access to most outdoor pursuits and activities is possible at reduced rates. The staff where super friendly and the room was huge, the veiw was awesome and the location was perfect

Set in an area surrounded by beautiful Lochs, forests and miles of unspoilt countryside, the area surrounding the hotel is ideal for fishing, stalking/shooting, golf, walking, cycling, bird/wildlife watching, painting, photography and watersports – or for just doing nothing at all! Lovely old hotel in the middle of the village. I called in & asked if I could drop off heavy rucksack & the proprietor Susan said I could check in early. She was very nice to chat with & so helpful. Comfy room & bed, good shower. Everything I needed. Big breakfast. I had a great walk down to Kenmure Castle - fascinating, spooky place in beautiful surroundings (see my photo). Could have very happily stayed for a week!
