Situated in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra Expedition Lodge provides accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The property has mountain and river views. We had the best time at Sumatra expedition lodge. The room was spacious, clean and had air con and a fan. The family were lovely and the workers were so friendly and helpful. We had amazing meals at the lodge (our favourite the tempeh rengdeng). We also did a jungle trek organised by the lodge. We had the most incredible day with our tour guide Oman and his helper Onkey (sorry if wrong spelling). Oman was so great with 20 plus years of experience in the jungle he was so knowledgeable and we saw so much beautiful jungle and wildlife. He also deeply cared about the environment and was a great advocate for animal wellbeing and safety. We were fortunate enough to see lots of monkeys and observe the orangutan’s up close. Definitely recommend 10/10

A recently renovated guest house set in Tuk Tuk, Hub Tata Guesthouse features a garden. The property features lake views. In good weather, guests are welcome to sit outside. Amazing room, big, clean, spaceous bathroom, well maintained. Great view, good fresh breakfast. Owner amazingly helpful, even ensured my safe shared car travel and checked back with me.

Offering inner courtyard views, Mila Homestay is an accommodation set in Padang, 10 km from Siti Nurbaya Bridge and 47 km from Mount Talang. The host was the best woman we ever met. She was really helpful and willing to give us any kind of information. She helped us with moving around letting us her scooter and also dropped us off at the airport. If you want to feel confortable and in good hands, this hostel is the best option in Padang.

Providing garden views, SeaGate Bungalows in Sabang offers accommodation, a private beach area, an open-air bath and a garden. Many colourful reef fish species, trumpetfishes, box fishes, turtle, stingray and lionfish..., etc. are surprising me in this secrete snorkelling spot just outside Seagate. The room is very clean and comfortable, making me feel like at home. Free WiFi is also pretty good inside room, at balcony and restaurant that I did not expect in such natural environment before. Borja & Yuyun can assist all you want in the island such as transportation arrangement, watching dolphin/ snorkelling, renting car, and activity information......, etc..

Located within 9.3 km of Medan Grand Mosque and 10 km of Maimun Palace, Bua Guest House provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Medan. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area with a nice garden and outside area to relax. The best however was the owner. She gave us great tips and helped us organize our further trip. She owns another guesthouse in Tangkahan where we went on a jungle trip to see the Orang Utan. She made us a good and absolutely fair deal to get there, stay there, do the jungle tour and get back to Medan. We had the time of our life there.

The 2 guides Rian and Santa were the best guides I’ve encountered anywhere in all my years of traveling. They were so kind, funny and thoughtful. The food on the trek was phenomenal and it really was a wonderful experience. The property is great, with a beautiful lush green garden.
