Our three-night stay at Matraville Homestay was a very welcome change-of-pace after jungle treks and volcano hikes in Bukit Lawang and Berestagi. Our unit was VERY large (it would have easily suited a family of four) and well-appointed with a TV, fridge, sink and kettle for use. It was also spread over two levels, with the downstairs serving as the entrance/living room area/kitchenette, and the bedroom and bathroom/separate shower area upstairs. BONUS(ES): the unit entrance featured a little patio with a table and chair where you could have an early-morning coffee or tea while facing the sunrise; the upstairs level also provided a small balcony area to take in the morning sun or evening dusk. While the room we chose was across the street from the water (a 90-second walk at most, down a couple of shallow flights of steps, and therefore didn’t provide a direct waterfront view), there are two rooms available in another portion of the property that face the water and are just steps from it. Our excellent Host, Dimmer, picked us up from the Tuk Tuk ferry landing (and can also drop you off when you depart) and will provide you with everything you might need to make your stay comfortable, including tips on places to eat or have coffee nearby and suggestions for what to do/see on Samosir Island. He will also provide scooters for daily/multi-day use for very reasonable rates.

The staff were so friendly telling us about local markets and places to go as well as booking tuk tuks for us and booking our jungle trek! The jungle trek itself was amazing and an experience I will never forget with Alex, Tenjong and Ari as our guides. They go above and beyond to make sure you're having the best time. 10/10 recommend

Fantastic location waterside property with great views of village across the bay. Ferry delivers right to the hotel! Super host, helped us with many needs, including a ride to early ferry! Breakfast a highlight with restaurant views.

Objekt Mila Homestay smješten je u gradu 'Padang', u krugu od 10 km od znamenitosti Siti Nurbaya Bridge i 47 km od znamenitosti Mount Talang, te nudi terasu. The accommodation is in a beautiful and peaceful area overlooking the mountains. However it's also convenient with many stores nearby. The hosts are incredibly kind ,hospitable and always happy to help or give recommendations. Highly recommend!

Objekt The view padang, Amazing view, 8 mins Mentawai fast ferry, cold beer, close to restaurants smješten je u gradu 'Padang', na 13 min hoda od znamenitosti Plaža Air Manis, te nudi smještaj koji... Although British, Robert is a wonderful person and an interesting guide. He even left a panties in our backpack before leaving us at the airport. Highly recommanded (if my advice means anything)

Objekt JUNGLE LIFE GUEST HOUSE - Trekking & Transport Only Book With Us u gradu 'Bukit Lawang' nalazi se uz plažu, a ima bar. Alex is a wonderful host and owner. He helped us with everything from the moment we landed in Medan. Our guides for orangutan trekking Oli and Dial were also amazing with their knowledge & jokes. The guest house is in excellent location close to the bridge with great restaurant choices around.

Toba Boi Guesthouse is a tranquil hideaway wrapped in padi fields and village charm, unless you happen to book one of the front-facing rooms. Then it’s a nightly festival. Rooms either face the peaceful rice paddies at the back (cue frogs, breeze, and existential bliss) or overlook Tataring Coffee & Resto, where a live band rocks out every Thursday and Saturday evening until midnight. Yes, the music is loud. No, earplugs won’t save you. But credit where it’s due.. the band slaps. Think less “karaoke horror” and more “why aren’t they famous yet?” A short walk takes you to shops and local eats, and there’s a chill little beach right opposite Tataring for your morning cool-off or evening cooldown. Perfect if you’re into either deep sleeps or deep bass. Choose wisely when booking—or just bring your dancing shoes and call it balance. Shoutout to caretaker Siska, a sweet, smiley lady who checked us in with warmth and a no-fuss attitude. She also shared great tips on where to eat and what to do, local style. Note : Motorbike rental at a discounted rate to guest only! High recommended to round island.

Objekt Bua Guest House nalazi se u gradu 'Medan', na 9,3 km od znamenitosti Velika džamija u Medanu, te nudi smještaj koji sadrži vrt, besplatno privatno parkiralište i terasu. The guesthouse is in a semi rural area very near the city. Nice garden and fields in the ares. Away from the hustle of the city but easy walking to small shops and restaurants. Good breakfast with options. of what you want. Will stay here again and definitely recommend to other travelers

Te staff was absolutely amazing, food was delisious and the best I've had so far in Indonesia, garden is beautiful. The whole place is perfect for relaxing after your trek in the jungle.
