Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). A really great place to stay. The tatami rooms are lovely, we had the most wonderful autumn colours right outside our window. Fabulous. We also really enjoyed the veg. Curry in the evening.

The staff were very friendly. I found the bed comfortable and the whole quest house was very charming. The restaurant attached to the guest house was good and convenient, and the view of the garden from there was lovely. It is two minutes away from Mitaki-dera, which I found to be an underrated beautiful place, now one of my favorite temples I have visited.

Staying in a 100+ year old traditional Japanese home was an amazing experience, and the fact that we had the whole house to yourself made it even better. In addition, the host was so kind and helpful and really went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He gave us great recommendations for dinner and helped us make reservations. The room was very spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and every amenity you could possible need was provided.

It's a lot of stairs but it is so worth it. Breakfast is lovely and you can bring in your own food to eat in the beautiful cafe.

It's a beautiful big traditional Japanese house with the host living in a separate house next door. There are 3 rooms in the house so there is the potential to be sharing with other guests. Toilets, shower rooms and kitchen are shared. Our room was huge with futons, a table, and sliding doors that opened up to a view of the garden. It was lovely to be able to hear the river rushing by right beside the house, and cool to stay in a quiet little neighborhood. The #29 bus is very easy to catch to and from Hiroshima station and it runs super frequently, so it wasn't a problem being slightly out from the city centre. We had a very relaxed and peaceful stay here and would definitely come back again. Thank you to our wonderful and friendly host Kengo!
