Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Highlight of my trip, I wish we stayed 2 nights not just one. Great hospitality and wonderful facilities. Personally the futon was very comfortable since I prefer harder matress. A 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, very close to the main attractions.

4.1 km from Atomic Bomb Dome, Guest house Mitaki is a recently renovated property situated in Hiroshima and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. I loved everything about this place, the owner is a very friendly person that makes you feel at ease and is very helpful. The atmosphere is peaceful surrounded by trees an the close proximity of an awesome bhuddist temple

Set in Onomichi, 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, BONAPOOL offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. The rooms look out onto the water and it is very serene. Bathrooms were shared but were extremely clean and felt private (full cabins for toilets and showers).

Set just 1.2 km from Remains of Ochaya - Honzin, 西条ゲストハウス八反 offers accommodation in Higashihiroshima with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Hospitality and countryside, it's very comfortable for sleep

1 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, ゲストハウス尾道ポポー Guesthouse Onomichi Pawpaw is located in Onomichi and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The host met me with ice tea. At 35 degrees it was quite pleasant 🙂

Kusunoki for women-only guesthouse is set in Fukuyama, 9 km from Miroku no Sato, 9 km from Jodoji Temple, and 10 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine. Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

Boasting sea views, Guest House Gamigami provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge, around 3.1 km from Saikon-ji Temple. The beauty and the quiet of the area was wonderful after hectic times in Kyōto and Tōkyō. The host was very lively, friendly, and helpful. The tatami room was a nice size and the futons were comfortable. There was air conditioning. Also, we had access to cooking equipment, but only made mocha and microwaved a little food.

Offering sea views, Onomichi Guest House Miharashi-tei is an accommodation set in Onomichi, 70 metres from Senkoji Temple and 700 metres from Onomichi History Museum. We stayed in the large family room upstairs and the view was amazing. This place made us feel like we were really in Japan with tatami floors and shoji screens in a beautifully restored traditional house. The story of the restoration project is interesting too. We walked up to the temple and the observatory at the top of the hill, and explored the surrounding streets before going biking on the islands the next day. Wished we had stayed two nights instead of only one. The futons were comfortable and warm. Other guests were considerate and quiet. Facilities were clean.

We had such a beautiful and comfortable room to stay in and the owner was very kind and friendly. It was a lovely and quiet place after the hustle and bustle of various cities. Great coffee too!
