Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Følte oss hjemme samtidig som at alt var nytt.

Guest house Mitaki ligger i Hiroshima, med Atombombekuppelen bare 4,1 kilometer unna. The staff were very friendly. I found the bed comfortable and the whole quest house was very charming. The restaurant attached to the guest house was good and convenient, and the view of the garden from there was lovely. It is two minutes away from Mitaki-dera, which I found to be an underrated beautiful place, now one of my favorite temples I have visited.

I Onomichi, 25 kilometer fra Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, ligger BONAPOOL, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. We stayed for only 1 night during our cycling trip. It was a dreamy hostel. Our room window was facing the sea. The shared bathroom and kitchen were very cleaned and comfortable. the surroundings were wonderful.

Bare 2,4 kilometer fra Tsutsumigaura-stranden og 4 minutters gange fra Fem-etasjes pagode ligger HEM'S HOTEL 1日1組限定 new, som tilbyr overnatting med klimaanlegg og eget bad i Miyajima. Unique hotel in a renovated Japanese home. Great location, quiet. It was very hot so a/c had difficulty keeping up but small issue for us. Great staff who served us a delicious breakfast which was included.

西条ゲストハウス八反 ligger i Higashihiroshima, med Remains of Ochaya - Honzin bare 14 minutters gange unna. Overall this was better than some private accommodations I have stayed in the past. The hostel room only has 6 beds. The bathrooms were clean and specious. Really enjoyed. Bed was nice after sleeping on wood tile for 3 days.

ゲストハウス尾道ポポー Guesthouse Onomichi Pawpaw ligger i Onomichi, med Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine bare 12 minutters gange unna. The host met me with ice tea. At 35 degrees it was quite pleasant 🙂

I Fukuyama, 8,4 kilometer fra Shinsho-ji Temple, ligger kusunoki for women-only guesthouse, som har gratis WiFi og gratis privat parkering. Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

I Onomichi, 3,1 kilometer fra Saikon-ji Temple, ligger Guest House Gamigami, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. Very beautiful area. Good room and very clean. I will visit gamigami again.

Onomichi Guest House Miharashi-tei ligger i Onomichi, 0 minutters gange fra Senkoji-tempelet, og har en bar. Her bor du med utsikt over byen. This might have been one of the best places we stayed in Japan. The room was right above the cafè but very quiet and cute with an incredible view. The cafè downstairs was delightful and had a lovely view. The coffee and tea were incredible. You can even eat your own food there. All the bathrooms are shared but that's no problem at all. The price was fantastic for what we got. We also enjoyed talking to other guests. The view from the lookout above the shrine is also spectacular.

I Hiroshima, 5 kilometer fra Aeon Mall Hiroshima-Fuchu, ligger 88 House Hiroshima, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. 88House is filled with authentic charm and a homely warm aura. From the moment you open the front door you are greeted with a beautiful garden and open green spaces to explore within the grounds. We were very late to check in (about 11pm), and the owner Kengo-san waited up for us in order to show us to our room and give us a clear explanation about how to use the facilities. We sincerely appreciated that. Our room was spacious, clean, and very calming to rest in. Heating AC in the room was a godsend for the cold nights, and the showers had hot water and a modern WC with bidet. There is also a shared kitchen to prepare your food and throw trash. There’s a lot to appreciate and admire in 88House Hiroshima. From the beautiful Yukimi shoji doors in the rooms that lets in the natural daylight whilst still retaining privacy, to the beautiful wooden beams and rafters and wooden light fixtures. A lot of interesting books and ornaments adorn the walkway, and there’s even a small section of kids toys to entertain the little ones. Kengo-san has made sure to leave lots of flyers and pamphlets of events/exhibtions, and a variety of things to do and explore in the area, so check the table near the entrance genkan. There is a lot of greenery around you and a small stream outside the property, as well as Kengo-san’s sweet potato fields. Kengo-san is very friendly and my partner and I are very thankful to have had a chance to stay in his home. We highly highly recommend staying here if you are in Hiroshima and want a slice of Japanese home living away from the city. We hope to come back and stay again, and I hope Kengo-san can bring us for that hike up the mountain behind his house to see the Kannon statue!
