Featuring 2-star accommodation, Guest House Suzumeno Kakurembo is set in Koyasan, 37 km from Kishi Station and 44 km from Matsushita Park. Very cozy guest house, it was sparkling clean, very well located and a great value for money! The location was excellent, close by and walking distance to everything! We loved it! We reserved for dinner and the food was really good along with the very nice lady that helped us with everything we wanted!

Located in Koyasan, Koyasan Guest House Tommy is a recently renovated accommodation, 38 km from Kishi Station and 45 km from Matsushita Park. We loved the stay in Tommy‘s Guest House. He gave us a lot informations, the breakfast was delicious, perfect! We would like to come again.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. The hostel was fantastic. We rented a tatami room, which was spotless, very comfortable and with a really nice view. The onsen was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean, there were snacks, eggs to boil in the onsens in town and all cooking and serving tools to eat them afterwards. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. This was our favourite stay along the Kumano Kodo, despite being the cheapest.

Located just 1.3 km from Oka Park, Guesthouse RICO offers accommodation in Wakayama with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a housekeeping service. The property and rooms had a very quirky and pleasing design! We really enjoyed the preservation of the original building, but with a modern update. The room was spacious and comfortable for a group of friends, and there were nice common spaces such as the pantry and bar areas downstairs. It was well situated, near to many food options, and was easy to access busses to places of interest. We walked from the Wakayama train station and that was a little far but you could easily take a bus.

Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Guesthouse Soi offers various rooms including private Japanese-style rooms and dormitory rooms. The place is very cozy, tidy and clean. It has a warm decoration style that makes you feel at home. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The staff is friendly, always willing to help you.

Situated in Kyoto, 1 km from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, シーザー祇園CaesarGion features rooms with city views and free WiFi. Very good place, free luggage storage even after check out. We loved our stay here, would definitely recommend! We are coming back as soon as possible.

Boasting garden views, ゲストハウス柚 features accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 200 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Unique old style house but very comfortable with just the right amount of modern conviences (heaters, well stocked kitchen, comfortable futons). House was beautiful. Great location, only steps away from Hayatama Taisha and a 15 min walk to Kamakura shrine. Also, host was very welcoming and helpful.

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE, a property with a garden, is situated in Chikatsuyu, 300 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall, as well as 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji... This was the most wonderful stay I have experienced. I stayed here whilst I did the Kumano Kodo. I loved the style of the building. The location was great for the walk itself as a half way point. You feel exhausted after that first day and this is a great place to stay to rest and recoup. The welcome drink was very welcomed and we enjoyed it in the lovely garden. The room its self was plush and so comfortable. Hitomi and Omry did everything to make this the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. I don’t even know where to start with the meal, you must book the dinner, breakfast and lunch. It was definitely at the maximum end of my budget to do this but I will never forget the experience. Me and my friend shared a 5 course dinner, all courses were oishi (delicious) and so perfectly presented. Even now 2 months later I can remember the dinner and the flavours and how it made me feel. The packed lunch the next day was perfect fuel for the walk. Great shower to rinse off from the day as well and lovely living room area.

Located within 7.2 km of Iwafune Shrine and 10 km of Nozaki Kannon Shrine, Shionome house provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Ikoma. This place is just amazing. Most friendly and helpful host. The house is traditional Japanese style and gives a very homely feeling. It’s walking distance from the station and very calm place. Definitely recommend.

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Such a lovely stay with the best okonomiyaki just down the road! Hospitality was amazing and even gave us some manju that they make in their shop to try!! Delicious! Perfect stay in a great location for the kumano kodo trail. Would definitely stay again!
