I even arrived a day early by mistake, and they were fully booked, so they helped me find a place to stay. The place is very clean and quiet. It has an excellent restaurant with delicious food. The location is perfect. You can walk to any point of interest, and there are also bus stops nearby. I would come back a thousand times.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. We stayed here as a stopover during the Kumano Kodo. What a wonderful stay! Great place, the common area is well-equipped, and the private onsen (three in total) is absolutely the best after a day of hiking. Yunomine Onsen is a lovely little village. Highly recommend!

Unique old style house but very comfortable with just the right amount of modern conviences (heaters, well stocked kitchen, comfortable futons). House was beautiful. Great location, only steps away from Hayatama Taisha and a 15 min walk to Kamakura shrine. Also, host was very welcoming and helpful.
