1.5 km from Ubuta Shrine, Guesthouse Usagi is a recently renovated property set in Kumano and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Kumano is very nice and the guesthouse is as well! The room is a traditional japanese style but it is quiet comfortable, and the bathroom is very clean. Also, I would like to mention that Kawakami San is very nice and help us a lot on booking several restaurants in Japanese, since we are unable to speak.

My husband and I stayed here as our home base for a nearby event and it exceeded our expectations. The host was amazing and even gave us a small gift since he knew we were in Japan for our honeymoon. The home is a perfect blend of modern and traditional - the tatami mats were pristine, the design was thoughtful, and we loved the kotatsu. The location was wonderful - on a quiet street, steps away from a convenient Family Mart, and just a short walk from Oharaimachi St and the inner Shrine (the highlights of our whole trip!). We love this spot and hope to stay here again in the future :)

This is a great spot if you want to do kumano kodo iseshi route. The scene is to die for. But weirdly during my time zero people come here. Lol. So picture say the best. And enjoy the picture. The owner give us access whole house and he is owner for orange farm which have one of the best oranges as well.

Area of outstanding natural beauty. Guest house has plenty of room, and good facilities. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. Recommend an evening visit to local Onsen, see if you can spot the wild turtles in rivers on the way.

You stay/rent a Japanese house all for your self. Perfect for traveling with family, and/or a group of friends that needs a washing machine, and peace and quiet. Its next to the main road, but traffic is not a lot on weekdays and as the house has its own fence, it blocks direct sound from the road. For night time, you would not hear a thing.
