Breakfast is not offered or included, but there is a wonderful organic restaurant “Tiendita Verde” just 2 minutes from the property, they offered amazing breakfasts! The place is run by a local family who are very, very kind. The hostess, Tania, is always ready to help and assist with any request (she does not speak English, but we got around very well with the automated translation app and Chat GPT). For example, we arrived for the Day of the Dead without having booked any tour for November 1st. She helped us organize one on the spot and introduced us to Gloria, a guide who, for 800 pesos per person, arranged an evening visit. From 6 p.m. until midnight, we had a private tour of the most interesting places where the Day of the Dead is celebrated, including 2 truly amazing cemeteries. The most important and precious thing, of course, is Tania’s warm and heartfelt attitude. We felt completely at home and always truly welcome, with the sense that we were genuinely cared for. So if you stay at this guesthouse, we highly recommend it. We also have to note a fair price during the Dia de Muertos festival which is very hard to find around such touristy place as Patzcuaro. Last but not least - don’t bother too much to go to Janitzio, it’s a tourist trap! There is so much more to do around! Just ask Tania.
