If you are visiting the Douro, you need to stay at this beautiful guest house. The views from the property are out of this world. The owners, Ines and Filipe, go out of their way to accommodate their guests, and their kind hospitality is what makes this place special. We would definitelyyyy choose to stay here again!

Casa Das Laranjeiras is an awesome hillside property with an amazing view of the Douro Valley and the Pinhao Quay. Antonio and Cristina, who own and run the place, literally obsess about keeping the property clean and in tip-top shape and are an absolute delight to interact with. Apart from the common kitchen area where one can cook, the rooms themselves are very well furnished including a refrigerator, a nespresso machine (including adequate pods), an automatic citrus juicer, a toaster oven etc. The oranges and the bottle of port wine are a nice gesture. The property is apparently 1700 metres from the Pinhao station and google maps shows it to be a 15 mins walk. However, please note that the route to the property is uphill and may be difficult to do in hot weather. There are limited number of taxis at the Pinhao station, so would be helpful to get the taxi company's contact number before coming. The property is west facing, so one can take a gentle walk to Pinhao station in the early mornings.

The Casa offered us 2 huge rooms with comfy beds, very nice showers and bathrooms including all the necessities. The room features a mini-fridge, microwave, and kettle plus a kitchen sink so one could prepare some food, but the common kitchen is also available to use with complimentary coffee and tea all day. The place is very quiet for sleeping with only four rooms total, plus it's on a side street with a large verandah between the hotel and the street. It's located just behind the actual Correios building a few steps from the main pedestrian center, with access to many places to eat and shop. One added pleasure was that the hotel has been decorated like a museum, with artifacts from old post offices and artistic touches in the same theme. The cordial owner was pleased to show us all the nice pieces, like the old phones and signage. A excellent choice in a lovely city. We will return for a longer stay!

That is a meticulously clean, friendly and hospitable accommodation in a very scenic setting. The room looked very fresh and well thought out in details. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Very conveniently located in the city centre steps away from some attractions. The breakfast was fabolous and filling.

Remote, but only 15 minutes from basic stores & a few restaurants. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was nice with classic European meats and eggs cooked to order, fresh fruit, etc. also had access to charcuterie, wine, sodas as needed. Nice to have access to this as the staff is gone after 5ish. Obrigado Elvira for all of your advice on the area!

It was so clean and well set up, the host Antonio was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Introduced us to the restaurant next door, helped us set up a taxi to the train station. Sylvia made a lovely breakfast!
