Very hospitable owner and good houseboat with a great view. The owner Mohd Goona ji also helped in negotiating a good rate for our shikara ride. The home cooked food, though bit expensive, was amongst the best we had in our stay if 9 days in Kashmir. The location is wonderful, being open to the lake from the rooms windows, and not adjoining other houseboats. Ghat 12 itself is the one from which the Dal lake opens up wide. For the price this houseboat is good value for money. Don't miss to take a Shikara ride - ideally take it to Char Chinar garden round trip

Mr. Firdous's houseboat was far enough from the street so the only sound you hear is the tranquility of Dal Lake. Every morning, you would wake up to a peaceful view of the lake, plus a well-cooked breakfast (try the egg pizza!) The rooms are wonderful, authentic, and full of patterns (a big YES for maximalist) Mr Firdous knows EVERYONE you need, so he is ready to go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. If he cannot help you with that, he will get you the rightest guy for you. As someone who had stayed 2 weeks before staying Veena Palace, I can say finding dinner is challenging in Srinagar, especially if you live on a houseboat. Worry not because his wife is a wonderful cook who performs art with skill and heart. I tried some dishes from the elaborate Kashmiri wazwan, and I cannot recommend enough the crispy rib and the fish curry. The meatball was mashed to perfection; chewy and juicy. I personally learnt so much about heart-to-heart connection, which is something considerable for solo travellers in India, thanks to Mr. Firdous. My words cannot describe enough for my wonderful stay with Mr. Firdous on his houseboat.

The property was beyond my expectation. They maintained it quite well. The staff Abrath and Zakhia always made sure that we were comfortable. We had one of our tastiest Kahwa from there. The view is yet another beautiful thing. The houseboat is located away from all the chaos. They made sure we had an amazing experience in Kashmir. and suggested every activity and place to visit in detail. and also helped with bargaining shikara ride and arranging it on time.It was our first day in srinagar and it turned out to be a beautiful experience because of them.

The houseboat was very well maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and offered stunning views of the water, especially during sunrise and sunset—absolutely romantic and soothing. The gentle movement of the boat added a special charm to our stay. The staff and crew were extremely courteous, attentive, and made sure we felt at home throughout our time on the houseboat. The food was freshly prepared, delicious, and served with great care, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was a perfect leisure getaway for couples looking for privacy, relaxation, and natural beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this houseboat to anyone planning a peaceful and romantic escape. ❤️

We stayed for 2 nights at Going Palace houseboat. It is a deluxe houseboat with intricately decorated. Rooms were nice and clean. The bathrooms were very clean. The facilities in the houseboat were very good. The staff - Wasim, Same er and Sams were very friendly and catered to all our requests.. The food was very homely and tasty. The houseboat location is also great with very good views and away from the sounds of the main road but not far from gate 12. Mr. Goona took special care that we are ok. Overall a very pleasant stay and highly recommended.

The houseboats were clean and comfortable, the food was authentic and tasty, and the team managed our tours and transfers very smoothly. Kayakla kapıya kadar erişim imkanı sunan Chicago Houseboats, Srinagar'da yer almaktadır. Dal Gölü'nde yer alan tesis, Nehru Parkı'na 500 metre, Lal Chowk Ghantaghar'a ise 3,1 kilometre mesafededir. The location is fabulous, it would be hard to pick a better location. We were very well looked after by Muhammad and the other staff. Breakfasts were nice, with plenty of variety. We were able to organise tours around Dal Lake, to the floating vegetable markets and Sonamarg with Chicago. Thank you, Chicago, we had a fabulous and very memorable time,
