Huge room , amazing view , lovely welcome . Turns a stop off on the route south - minutes from a junction - into a memorable part of the holiday . Relax in the courtyard with a glass or two entertained by the little dogs and then candle lit meal , every dish was fresh and tasty. Next day excellent breakfast followed by fascinating tour into the cellars which are in the original castle . Too cold for the swimming pool to be ready but it looks a good size and set in lovely informal grounds with sculptures. Our own private bathroom was on the other side of the huge landing but dressing gowns and slippers were provided and it added to the feel of staying in a home rather than a boutique hotel which some of the more expensive / highly renovated chateau have become . For two people allow an extra 180 euros for pre dinner champagne / beer, four course meal, good bottle of wine and a jar of the home made jam you enjoy at breakfast ,then with reluctance rejoin the motorway wishing you had booked for longer.

Fantastic stay! The room was large, comfortable, and very quiet for sleeping, has a very good shower, and the property is beautiful. The hosts gave us a warm welcome and a delicious breakfast, including homemade yogurt, bread and jam along with baguettes, croissants, juice and coffee. This is a much better location for people cycling the Canal de la Garonne than Marmande and other towns farther off the trail, and there's secure bike storage.
