Den welcomed us and was extremely helpful to find a place to eat in the evening. We stayed for two days and spend some time with him and other locals enjoying great craft beer. The room was spacious and very authentic in this old house. This was the start of our stays and we got a lot of great recommendations for the rest of our trip. We loved our four day stay in Yamatoya Besso. The onsen was fabulous. We had it to ourselves. The staff was super attentive especially Midori who speaks excellent English but everyone was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. The location was superb, close to Matsuyama Castle, shopping, cafes, restaurants, and a short train ride to all the local sites. We look forward to returning to Yamatoya Besso.
