Featuring mountain views, An Bothán-Cosy Cottage in the Cooley Mountains provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 8.6 km from Carlingford Castle. Very quiet and the kitchen was fully furnished for a long stay, although I only had 2 nights booked. The host provided a loaf of bread, jam and fresh eggs on the counter.

The rooms were freshly renewed, very comfortable and well equipped (brand new big smart TVs !) but what stood out above all was the warmth of the hosts who made us feel at home as soon as we arrived : the kind of Irish friendlyness you read about in guidebooks. We were able to enjoy drinks in the garden as well as a rich and tasty breakfast, prepared just for us. Our kids loved it ! We definitively recommend this B&B to anyone staying in or around Drogheda.

Boasting garden views, Buvinda offers accommodation with patio, around 5.2 km from Dowth. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The homestay has family rooms. We loved staying at Buvinda and hope to return in the future. Arthur and Michele were so great!! They even helped us with a wedding ceremony we managed to pull of with very short notice. We will forever be grateful to them and have fond memories of our stay there.

Great location on the water in small charming town. Walkable to really good restaurant the Kingfisher Bistro recommended by Jackie. Great breakfast and beautiful room overlooking the water. Delightful stay. Definitely recommend.

Offering a bar and quiet street view, The Village Rooms is located in Dundalk, 7.3 km from Louth County Museum and 9.1 km from Proleek Dolmen. Con the host was amazing. We were running late to a wedding and he happily dropped us over to the venue. It's a wonderful apartment, would highly recommend, if we are coming back to this area we will definitely try to rebook.

With a restaurant and a cookery school this family-run Georgian House lies only 50 metres from Medieval Carlingford. Overlooking the mountains, it features rooms with family antiques and free Wi-Fi. Spectacular staff, amazing food and you can’t get a better location. Beds were very comfortable and water was hot, breakfast made to order and a great selection of fruit, yogurt toast and juice in addition to the main breakfast. The little extras give this place have a special charm that will stay in your memories forever.

Set in 3 acres of gardens, Grove House Bed & Breakfast is located in the medieval village of Carlingford, County Louth. It offers a choice of breakfasts from the menu, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Good quiet location, easy parking,very comfortable beds, generous sized room, spotlessly clean. Fabulous garden area with several seating areas to relax (if your lucky with the weather which we were!) Wendy was so charming, nothing was too much trouble for her. Good choice of both cereals and cooked items for breakfast and freshly prepared to order. Just a little tip, if you do require gluten free breakfast options just drop her message in advance, it helps with her planning and prevents food being wasted. Would definitely recommend Grove House and hope to return there. Room 5 has lovely views of the garden and mountains.
