We loved everything about Ca' del Ciuco. The location is wonderful. You can be in either Parma or Reggia Emilia in 40 mins, but you can just as easily be in the mountain valleys in the same time. Giovanni and all the staff were incredibly helpful. The pool was enchanting. The room was comfortable and the meals were to die for.

Imagine booking on a whim, after an all night drive following a cancelled flight, and your gracious host not only allows a very, very early check-in, but serves you breakfast and buckets of excellent coffee. Imagine, in the land of Contessa Mathilda's stronghold at Canossa, awaking to the magical brass notes of hunting horns sounding from distant hills, and peering out to see huntsmen working their hounds on "away"! and recall. Imagine the earthy, sweet, sonorous hum of bees around ripened vines. Imagine a menu extraordinaire. Well, no need to imagine. Just stay here. It's worth any drive - and the drive itself will be magical.

We liked the room, it was beautiful, wood and stone everywhere. Towels, shower gel, dishwashing soap - all was there. We received breakfast - coffee, tea, milk, bread and cake - so nice that everything was available, especially over Easter weekend.

Not only what I want to say, but firstly.... wonderful place with wonderful people:-) IIs very historic and magic place souranded by nature, animals,calm and domestic atmosphere. Room are nicely made, wifi ok, breakfast brilliant...home made from local products,also dinner is delicious. Good connections to Reggio Emillia concerts..
