We felt most fortunate in finding B&B Cerrito in Orria. We spent thirteen days there, and I am sure that this calm, charming little village in the hills is an ideal base for exploring the Cilento region (hills, streams, rivers, waterfalls, the sea, and culture—see below for some tips). The accommodation is clean and nicely furnished, with a view of the hills. The host, Milva, goes out of her way to provide us with a delicious breakfast. The host and her family welcomed us as if we were members of the family, although we arrived at 11 o’clock at night after a one-hour delay. They are very kind and thoughtful. U' Cerrito in Orria is well worth a longer stay. _ _ _ Some Tips: As Orria is situated at an altitude of 540 metres above sea level, its climate is a bit cooler than at the seaside resorts. We are close enough to the sea, hill destinations, and cultural sites all at once, provided we have a car. The hosts were kind enough to give us some useful recommendations on places to visit, and the internet provides additional options. If you like rambling or walking in genuine, special places, we would recommend visiting: Oasi WWF Grotte del Bussento (2–4 hours) with its cave where the river Bussento emerges, beautiful waterfalls, and nature. Afterwards, it is a splendid idea to bathe in the wild sea, in the smooth, crystal-clear Bussento river, or both, at Foce del Fiume Bussento, where the river Bussento flows into the sea. Gole del Calore, another natural treasure nearby for a walk on another day (5–6 hours, though you do not need to go all the way to the medieval bridge, as the path and the river are special). Next to the footpath, you can swim in a clear mountain river as if it came straight out of an Indian film, complete with large stones and waterfalls. The area surrounding Orria is well worth rambling around to get to know the kind locals. We enjoyed snorkelling at: Ascea Marina Reef (Scogliera di Ascea Marina, Scoglio Ri Nanti).
