We had the best time! Such a beautiful part of Italy, so green and unspoilt. The accommodation is perfectly situated for exploring the countryside and pretty little towns and the sea is easily reached too. Lovely breakfast, gorgeous swimming pool with fabulous views, friendly dog pottering around - what more could you ask? The owner and everyone there were all so friendly and lovely and our room was kept spotlessly clean, with great aircon too (thank goodness in that heat!) Thank you Gianni and everybody - we loved it!

The location of Il Rione was perfect for exploring the surrounding area. We loved being so close to Penne, and enjoyed an afternoon in Loreto Aprutino wandering the beautiful streets and marveling over the Castelli ceramics at the Acerbo Museum. Our host, Andreas, was incredibly helpful and friendly including his restaurant recommendations and great patience with our rudimentary Italian. He and his family live on the property and while not at all obtrusive, this makes them readily available if needed. We found the refrigerator fully stocked on our arrival with everything from eggs and milk to pancetta and cheese, as well as a side board full of tea, cereal and fruit. This was perfect for us and we enjoyed being left to our own devices and not beholden to breakfast at a particular time. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure and the apartment was very clean and incredibly quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Il Rione; should we ever find ourselves in the area we would happily stay here again.
