Location was great Only a very short walk from our villa through the fruit trees to the main hotel for meals and elephant watching. Staying at the hotel had the added bonus of a more comfortable viewing experience during their daily bathing from the restaurants multi-level balconies. Food was exceptional - we had seen some reviews on the price of the lunch and dinner however the food they provided was so good we didn’t mind paying a little more - the views of the river are absolutely stunning. Andrew made our stay so easy, was very informative about the elephant program that runs here and could not have been more helpful in organising us transport to the more personal elephant activities. Be mindful of the mahouts offering you to feed or touch the elephants and then ask for an extortionate fee - tickets to feed/bath at the river are available from the desk counter. I would say to tip any handlers that are genuine/make your experience good however be cautious of some deceitful practices by the handlers towards the tourists. For us it was more important that the funds went towards the elephants and their needs Would highly recommend and would stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Walawwa - we planned to stay here as it was an easy journey to go and see the elephants and also relatively close for travelling back to the airport for our return flight after travels, relative to travelling back down to Colombo We had a pleasant stay and made use of the restaurant for most of our meals, the staff were always helpful. We had a large room to enjoy with our baby.

This hotel is really great 😁 The host is very kind. When we got there we got cold towels and a welcome drink. The room is amazing! We just got our own tuktuk here so driving it was new. The hotel is on a top of a hill so the drive is a bit difficult. But the host and other people helped us.

Wow, I really recommend this place. The owner was super super helpful and really nice. I never had an experience like this before. It was our first night in Sri Lanka and he helped us with transportation (we came by public bus). He told us where to go etc. The room was really nice. He borrowed us an adapter extra blanket and also a mosquito net. We were with him to elephants, bets and waterfall. All the time he asked us if we needed something. Even after accommodation he told us that he will help us if we need it. We also got pick up from the bus station.

The best place to relax and enjoy the nature. We tried Yoga program and Ayurvedic herbal massage in the evening. It is possible to arrange the tour to Robinhood village, Robinhood rock, tea plantations, tea factory, Ayurveda herbal garden. Everything is well organised. I recommend Rocksana Fortress in 100%!!!
