Charming hostel in a beautiful setting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a lovely backyard garden where we enjoyed relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good and exactly what you would expect from a hostel. We stayed in a family room as five adults during a heatwave, which made it feel quite cramped and very warm. But that was more our choice of room than the hostel’s fault — for our group size, booking a larger room or two separate rooms would have been a better option. The location worked well for us: easy bus access to Haarlem and easy train connections from Haarlem to Zandvoort. We visited both and had a great time. Overall, a very charming and practical place for a short stay, especially if you know what to expect from hostel accommodation.

This 4-star hotel is centrally located close to the cities of Haarlem and Amsterdam, in Haarlemmerliede. Amsterdam The Style Outlets is less than 3 km away.

Van der Valk offers rooms with extra-long beds, satellite TV and balcony only 2 km from Haarlem's city centre. The hotel offers free WiFi throughout. Tesla charging points are available.
