I was a late check-in, and reception was easy. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice. While it is about 20 minutes outside Matane, it is worth the distance. I have stayed at multiple spots in town while traveling, and most are outdated and loud road noise. Motel M is in a small town and exceptionally quiet with modern appeal.

We enjoyed a very comfortable, cozy stay in the châlet behind the restaurant and a wonderful breakfast. It was equipped with all the amenities we needed, incorporated nature in the decor, and we had good space for our one-night stay. It was nice to be a stone's throw from a delightful dinner at the restaurant and the included hearty, hot breakfast options the next morning. The staff were wonderful and there's a parking lot for the auberge, but we used the public parking, which is abundant. It is very walkable to downtown and it is near the lighthouse and neighbors a camping and beach area.

The reception staff was super helpful and there was a small bar with nice windows. We liked the handy access of parking at our room door. The waterfront boardwalk is a quick walk across the road.
