Pool was amazingly refreshing, staff were very helpful and a great place to relax after an intense time at the tatacoa dessert. The hotel is amazing and great value for money. :D

Set in Villavieja in the Huila region, Hostal Arámbulo features a patio and inner courtyard views. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The host made us feeling like home. She is extremely welcoming, prepares amazing breakfast, coffee and house-made lemonade in-between. I can definitely recommend the offered tour to the Tatacoa desert. They also organized a collectivo back to neiva for us.

Mirador Valle de la Tatacoa in Villavieja provides accommodation with a garden and a terrace. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. It was really cool to be out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. The hotel is very rustic and located on a functioning ranch with cows and horses and everything. It is also walking distance from the two grey desert hiking trails. The owner was really friendly and fun to chat with as well as helpful with anything we needed. The food was also some of the best hotel food we’ve had.

Hotel Shaddai features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Villavieja. Conveniently situated 20 minutes away in a tuk tuk to Tatacoa Desert and 5 minutes to one of the surrounding astronomical observatories, this beautiful and quiet hotel was a brilliant stay in Villavieja. Friendly staff who emulate the openness and kindness of the rest of the small town, this place had a lovely clean pool, room and working air conditioning which is important in the humidity of the area. And fantastic breakfasts!

The location is great as it’s really close to the Tatacoa Desert. We stayed here for one night on a ride through South America on our motorcycles. Ricardo and his wife are really pleasant people and we were able to store our bike there for the day while we were visiting the desert.

The owner is so friendly and nice and she was a HUGE help for me! She organized a private tour/driver to the desert for me, Augusto was great! She also organized a private person who was willing to drive me to Neiva after 10pm because I took a nightbus to Cali and the last bus from the village leaves around 6pm. She made me a delicous breakfast and the bed was the most comfortable one I slept in since weeks! Don‘t miss out in this great host and hostel :)))) Muchas Gracias para todo!

A recently renovated guest house, LUNA del DESIERTO TATACOA offers accommodation in Villavieja. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Everything. The owners of the place were amazing and were even waiting outside for me, so I knew which hostel it was after a long journey. They helped me plan a tour to the desert, and the location was walking distance from the square. The place was clean and good value for money

Located just a 10 minutes walk outside of Villavieja, this beautiful cabin works great as a starting point for exploring the area. It has a great bed, amazing bathroom, a kitchen, a TV, air conditioning, and a laundry machine. There is a good, local restaurant almost next door where you can eat, or you can go into town.

Solaris Hotel features a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Villavieja. Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking hotel has a hot tub and karaoke. The hotel was incredibly well cared for and clean. The rooms were well equipped and I couldn’t have asked for any more from all the staff, who were always so helpful, friendly and attentive.

About 1.5 hours away from each other. So make sure you go to the correct one as many people got confused!! *** - Location was fantastic. Close distance to both deserts. - Really helpful staff who organised taxis and transport for us. They were very attentive and even offered facilities to clean our shoes when they could see us struggling to clean them! - Lunch and breakfast are basic but they are really affordable. - Chill atmosphere and lots of areas to chill in the heat. - Rooms are rustic but perfect for what you pay for and have fans available.
