Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.

Dani, the owner of the hotel was also our guide—he took us up the volcano and arranged all our transport. From the airport to São Filipe, he organized a shared bus, where we left our bags at a local restaurant, enjoyed a meal, and then took the same driver to his village—all for a very small price One thing to keep in mind is that there is no running water in the village. Water is stored in a reservoir, and when it empties, it can be a bit challenging until it is refilled. It’s part of the rural experience, but it’s good to be aware of it in advance. Overall, this is a special place for travelers who appreciate simplicity, hospitality, and an authentic connection with local life.

Adriano and Filomena welcomed our group of 4 people in their house. The place was perfect for us: great location, wonderfull view on the caldeira and on the volcano, quality of the staff, size of the room, good food made by them. They have done everything to feel at home. Take time to discuss with Adriano, he has many stories to tell you about the caldeira and about Fogo.
