Gite de la Porte Saint Jacques: a hostel for pilgrims ligger i Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, med Baigorry kirke bare 11 kilometer unna. The location is on the main street and the host is incredibly friendly, with good advice from a man who has done El Camino and is full of experience. Highly recommend this clean and very welcoming location. Perfect to start El Camino.

Set 400 metres from the sea front and the beach La Grande Plage in Biarritz, Au Bon Coin offers a bar, lift, terrace and free WiFi throughout. The breakfast bar was incredible! All local specialities. Jacques, the owner, was so kind and welcomed my husband's Guide Dog for the Blind, Linda, with open arms. Such a wonderful place away from the tourists.

No other meals are provided but the hotel is well placed in Biarritz and there is a choice of eateries within walking distance

Completely renovated, the hotel consists of three village houses, 35 rooms spread over 3 floors, and plateaus in the heart of the most shopping district of Biarritz, Les Halles, is a lively and green... Loved staying in the family room where we could open the windows and peek out at the water and hear the noises of the city. Great walking location with an easy walk to the beach. Nice breakfast and dinner on site.

Hotel Hôtel Barnea is located in the centre of Biarritz, just a 3-minute walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. Each soundproofed room has a private bathroom, TV and free Wi-Fi internet access. Super cosy, atmospheric place. Small, freshly renovated, with big windows and a very comfortable bed. I assume the more expensive rooms have a partial sea view — ours didn’t; however, we were on the 3rd floor (just keep in mind there’s no elevator) and we enjoyed a great view of the town.
