She was as sweet as can be. The location is beautiful. Beautiful pastures with a lake view in the distance. The sheep out on the rolling hills. Yet this tranquil location was close enough to several cities for restaurants and exploring.

The property is sitting on its own with a beautiful front and back garden. Including a helicopter pad in the back garden which one of the owners Ronald was more than happy to show us and tell us the bit of history behind. The other owner Maureen was such a delight to talk to and get to know also. This property is not a house it is in fact a home! My partner and I felt welcome from the minute we walked in the door and will most certainly be staying here regularly over the coming months. Not to mention the absolute softies Bailey, Bonnie & Clyde. I have never come across more calm and loving dogs!

Offering a shared lounge and garden view, Hillgrove House is located in Boyle, 10 km from Ballinfad Castle and 15 km from Leitrim Design House. Very nice and comfortable. Easy to access. Convenient parking. Absolutely lovely hosts.

Featuring lake views, The Little Flock Farm offers accommodation with free bikes and a patio, around 6 km from Claypipe Visitors Centre. Great welcome. Beautiful house and hosts were very helpful. Can't think of anything else that could be improved on.

Ard Aoibhinn Roscommon Bed & Breakfast features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Lecarrow, 8.2 km from Claypipe Visitors Centre. Doris and Kevin were the perfect hosts, beautiful home and the breakfast was fabulous, great nights sleep. Rooms bigger than you would expect and to be woken by birdsong was an added extra. The local pubs were about a mile or so down the road with a harbour if you fancy a walk.Athlone town only 10 minutes away if you fancy a more lively night out taxis available. All in all a great find and most definitely would recommend and hope to revisit in the near future.
