On the outside you don't really expect quite what you get once you enter. The place is very new and modern, perfectly clean and tidy. And the views, those views of the nearby lake and the mountains in the distance are just out of this world. There are two big windows in the living room from where, sitting on the sofa, one could relax and breathe in the beauty of the nature. The place has everything one might need, plus even more. Aside from the full stack kitchen, the very comfortable bed, the nice bathroom and the good size living room, power sockets everywhere you need one, the owners have also provided a hair dryer, several board games, some additional hygienic products and a very easy to understand sorting of the waste with separate buckets, something that tourists need guidance as every country has their own rules. Of course, free parking is available in front. The villa is just 6 minutes away by car from this beautiful town at the sea, with its famous lighthouse at the top of a hill. Beautiful cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. They even had an egg slicer. You have a great view to the sea, the room was cosy and the water was hot. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Beautiful and quiet location even for several days, even a week. Fully equipped, comfortable and quiet apartment. Very calming view of the harbor. Wifi is also excellent for work. Parking is available at the back of the house at the end of the street right by the sea (you need to go around a block of houses, it's in the photo, but at night and in a blizzard it may not be immediately obvious).

That was the best apartment we were during our trip in Iceland. The apartment is perfect for a family of 4 or 5 people. The apartment is well equipped and decored, everything you may need is there. The views from all the rooms to the Kirkjufell mountain are awesome. The communication with the host and the check in/out process were smooth and easy.

This is a charming small guesthouse with just a few rooms. Communication with the hosts was quick and efficient and the welcome was extremely friendly. Our room with a great view of the little harbour and the island with the lighthouse was cosy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (15 € per person) was plenty and tasty. The room rates aren't low but the accommodation offers good value for money. Stykkisholmur with its old traditional houses is a pretty small fishing town well worth a visit.

Monika manages a very orderly, pristine guesthouse, dirty dishes are cleared promptly and she is ever attentive to guests' needs or queries. We appreciated how clean, cozy & well stocked her shared dining/kitchen area is, ample servings of cereal, milk, spreads etc... If you're looking for a homestay that goes beyond self check-in & check-out with a personal human touch, Holiday Guesthouse is the cozy stay for you in charming, serene Styykishholmur....also appreciated the Icelandic pronunciation lessons! "Rekyaveeek", "Veeek" & "Olasveek"....Takk Monika!! 🫶🙂 P/S : Bonus supermarket is literally in Monika's backyard....convenient! 😋

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Amazing cabin in beautiful location. There are only 3 cabins set up in this location next to a small lake in front, the place is very peaceful and serene. Our cabin has everything we needed to cook a delicious meal after our long day of exploring; the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. The home was tastefully decorated and the owner was very friendly . We loved everything about our stay here and would definitely return!
