Well set in Hiroshima, Hilton Hiroshima offers 4-star accommodation close to Myoei-ji Temple and Hiroshima City Minami Ward Community Cultural Center. What an exceptional place to stay and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The Hotel is not far too far from Hiroshima Train Station so after getting off the bullet train, an easy bus ride or taxi. It is also not too far from the Hiroshima Pease Memorial, so very accessible. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly and extremely welcoming. We were located on the 16th floor and had fantastic views across Hiroshima. The room was larger than expected, had everything we could have wanted and was absolutely beautiful. The bar area is amazing with a great selection of cocktails. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, could not have been better nor provided more options (you just want to keep eating). No expense has been spared to make this an amazing world class hotel. We really felt pampered. I do however have a negative.....I wish we had stayed here longer (we only had one night). They do really look after you and I cannot recommend this Hotel enough.

Set 1.7 km from Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum, Onyado Nono Matsue Natural Hot Spring offers 4-star accommodation in Matsue and has a spa and wellness centre. The hotel seems brand new, and the rooms are nicely set up with tatami mats and comfortable beds. Just like in a ryokan, you leave your shoes at the entrance. This gives the hotel a very cozy feel despite its size. The staff is extraordinary. I never had to wait to talk to a staff member and they were very helpful. The onsen is one of the best I experienced in larger hotels like this. It is a very nice oasis to come back to after a long day. I particularly liked that they also have a sauna. The location is ideal. There are lots of restaurants and bars literally right outside the hotel, the lake and the castle are both just a short stroll away. If I come back to Matsue, I will stay here again for sure.

Located in Tamano, 21 km from Hashihime Inari Daimyojin Shrine, UNO HOTEL provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We had a fantastic stay at Uno Hotel during our visit to Naoshima, the art island. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the ferry terminal, which made everything very convenient. The traditional Japanese rooms were truly special. Beautifully designed, spacious, and full of character, they added to the overall experience. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was calm and welcoming. The staff were outstanding. Easily the best English we encountered during our trip, and always helpful and attentive. Breakfast was a highlight. We chose the traditional Japanese option, which was beautifully presented and delicious. It also included five different juices, a nice touch that stood out. We did not have time to use the onsen next to the hotel, even though it was included in the rate. It is a great extra for anyone staying longer. While not the cheapest hotel of our trip, it was probably the highest in quality. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Naoshima

Set in Uno, the recently renovated 視点定点 inn offers accommodation 21 km from Kyobashi no Kyokyakuato and 21 km from Hashihime Inari Daimyojin Shrine. The property was perfectly situated for our day trips to Naoshima Island and Teshima Island. It was super easy to walk to the ferry terminals. Also the property had just what we needed to make our stay as relaxing as possible.

We had a fabulous stay, found the beds extremely comfortable! The 102 year old house is positioned in a quiet area about 20 min from central Kurashiki and has modern amenities such as a TV projector and heat pumps. The host, who is staying in the property next door, went over and beyond ensure we had a pleasant stay and provided great recommendations, even booked a dinner venue for us! We would highly recommend staying at Retreat Kobayashi, especially if you want to experience more authentic side of Japan.
