Ideally situated in the Dogo Hot Spring district of Matsuyama, 媛邸【ＥＮＴＥＩ】 is situated 600 metres from Joshin-ji Temple, less than 1 km from Matsuyama Shrine and a 16-minute walk from Miyukiji Temple. Loved everything! Beds were comfortable Absolutely fantastic location right off Dogo main pedestrian street but still really quiet Exceptional value for money. Staff was so helpful showing us all around the apartment so we didn't miss anything and left a little bag of goodies and some Mikan juice for us. Yukatas in the apartment were a hit with my 3 year old, they even included little ones for her Inside was so lovely and clean and nice ambience

Situated in Ainan and only 600 metres from Kanjizaiji Temple, 町の中心地 星もきれいな貸切宿 "うみいろキャビン " "umiiro cabin" features accommodation with quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking. Location was perfect. It was comfortable and nice to have a little place to sit outside in the sun after a long walk

Set within 35 km of Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 37 km of Henjou-in Temple, 伯方plus+ offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Imabari. The owners of this stay were so very very kind. We had to inform them that someone on our reservation was unable to come due to an illness, and they went out of their way to get her a souvenir! How kind is that?! When you arrive, they give you a cup of, possibly, the most delicious heated orange juice I have ever had. Genuinely both my brother and I were shocked at how good it was lol. They were also very complementary of my terrible japanese, so bonus points for hyping me up XD. The stay itself is quite small, but it has a magnificent view out of the window to the beach and the palm trees, and the sunset over the mountain is breathtaking. It also has everything you would need for a stay, fridge, microwave, table, kitchenette, etc. Special shoutouts to the shower, holy crap the heat and water pressure from that thing were life changing, and I wish I could have taken that shower home with me. Genuinely in the months that I have stayed in Japan that was the best shower I have ever had. No worries about food, there is a Konbini very close as well. All in all this was a wonderful stay, very convenient, hosts were really nice. Absolutely will try to stay here again when I retry the Shimanami Kaido.

Located in Inokuchi, 32 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Guesthouse tonari provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. Super friendly staff who were really helpful and welcoming. Great location for exploring the shimanami kaido, few minutes cycle from supermarket, maybe 15 mins to port to rabbit island or tatara bridge. 30mins cycle to other side of the island with the shrine and onsen. Everything was really clean and you were well provided for. Only a few beds in dorm room which was nice. Would love to stay again!

Great location. Sea view in the distance. quiet and clean. Very relaxed owner will do everything to make your stay enjoyable. On site kitchen and close restaurants means lots of options for food

Located in Hikino, ゲストハウスみちしお provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The property features sea views. Koji is the most generous owner and genunely welcome to help. He picked us up from the port and even picked us up from another port in the night time (we survived from the most adventurous journey - thankful to Koji!). Talk about the place: the guesthouse is cozy and warm. The shared facilities included kitchen and washing machine. The price of ramen and washing pods are the same price in the convenience store and may be cheaper. E-bikes are also provided with the cheap rate (1000 yen/day).

Situated just 26 km from Mishima Shrine, ゲストハウス 西村サイクル（24C） features accommodation in Izume with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Great place in a quiet town. Would need to take a bus or train from Uwajima. Schedule is not regular but easy enough to navigate. Space is large and very well thought out with sleeping room, hang out lounge and nice kitchen with table and chairs. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great place to base for walks in area. Huge bonus was Izakaya down the street. Super refined and tasty. We enjoyed our stay.

OMISHIMA SPACE Omoya has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Imabari, 30 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine. Very clean, comforting, and overall convenient place to stay especially if you are mid Shimanami Kaido

Offering inner courtyard views, しまなみ海道お宿ぽんぽこ is an accommodation set in Imabari, 30 km from Henjou-in Temple and 30 km from Kawara Museum. This place was perfect! It looks like it’s too far down or not a middle point but it actually works really well if you’re going all the way to Imabari. We cycled from Onomichi to our stay and made it in right around 6pm. We took the bikes for food nearby, our host, Ai, recommended some nice places! The room was absolutely amazing: it was spacious, very pretty, and clean! The restroom was outside the rooms, also very spacious and clean. The next day, Ai helped us with our itinerary. We were tired from the day before so we wanted to take some ferries. She wrote down all the information for us and gave us very good pointers and highly suggested the best viewpoint in the island that was totally worth it. We made it to our next destination safely and on time thanks to our host. We’d definitely go back and stay for more time. This town has a lot to see and the accommodation was just amazing!
