Our stay at 喜庵 KIAN the guest house by the castle was exceptional and a true delight. Located in a quiet alley in view of the Matsue Castle, our host Emi provided a warm welcome and was very helpful in suggesting (in English) interesting places to visit in the area. Our tatami room was clean and comfortable with AC and free WiFi. The kitchen provided a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, tea pot and tea, a table and chairs, and kitchen sink.

Dinner in restaurant Willows very nice—be sure to make reservation when you book. We got in one night, but the night we arrived it was booked out, like many places in the city.
