JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 300 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. Arnold gave us all the information we needed to navigate Lamu on arrival and organised some wonderful trips for us as well as a Swahili cooking lesson. Breakfast was generous and the rooms comfortable. I would definitely recommend JamboHouse! We will stay again on our next trip.

Situated within 500 metres of Shela Beach and 200 metres of Mnarani House in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. The bed and breakfast features city views and a sun terrace. Absolutely amazing place. Lots of nice pockets to sit and relax, the rooms and the whole hotel are beautiful, and Amani, who runs it, is lovely and incredibly helpful -- we were met at the airport even though we forgot to share our flight time! Could not recommend more.

Located in Lamu, a few steps from Manda Beach and 400 metres from Mnarani House, Red Moon House provides spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Everything was incredible. A luxury vacation with staff that make you feel at home. Food and service was incredible.

Situated 100 metres from Mnarani House, Star House 3 features accommodation in Shela. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Shela Beach is 300 metres away. Star House 3 is a triumph in the use of space and refreshing air flow through the whole unit. It is well appointed, comfortable, and clean. It has a luxurious king size bed with high quality linen. Staff are friendly and unobtrusive.

Featuring an indoor pool and views of garden, Baytulkher is a recently renovated bed and breakfast set in Lamu, 100 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. The property was just perfect for a solo traveller like myself. Great location, helpful staff, a pool to cool off and amazing breakfast.

Featuring a shared lounge and views of garden, Shela Bliss is a recently renovated bed and breakfast set in Lamu, 400 metres from Manda Beach. We loved the decor, the quiet situation and the breakfast served by Emmanuel who hosted perfectly. It felt like a real home, not an anonymous guest house. The beach was incredibly clean and despite the poverty very little was being hawked so it was truly peaceful. Shela is far preferable to Lamu.

Featuring garden views, Sai Shanti House provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 300 metres from Manda Beach. Everything. The place is awesome and the host super kind and helpful. And I couldn't believe how fresh the apartment was when outside it was overwhelmingly hot!

Located in Shela, 500 metres from Manda Beach, Mbibo House in the Shela Dunes offers accommodation with free WiFi, a terrace or a balcony and access to a garden and an outdoor pool. Perfect quiet oasis to relax, to discover Shela village, to explore the beach with helpful and friendly staff

Featuring accommodation with a balcony, Sai Shanti House is set in Lamu. The apartment, housed in a building dating from 2002, is 200 metres from the Mnarani House. Very warm and friendly reception. Beyond expectations! We were initially doubting to book due to a false comment of bathroom privacy issue, but we took chances and had a lovely stay, bathroom/shower is separated with locking mechanism from both sides. Host is super friendly, and greets/welcomes from Jetty, and even from Airport offers pickup service, which feels like home. We broke a glass accidently and they were cool about it too. Very accommodating, always at service to take us around as historical alleys there don't show up in Maps. We will return for sure.

Featuring a terrace with garden views, a private beach area and a garden, Madakani House can be found in Lamu, close to Shela Beach and 100 metres from Mnarani House. The staff were amazing - so friendly and attentive. We have a young family and they were great with the children too. The house is a beautiful old Swahili house. The rooms are on the upper floors meaning there is a nice breeze to keep you cool at night and during the day. We have 2 small children and easily fitted into one family room. There was also a great roof terrace for sundowners and/or dinner each night. Location was very convenient - a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Edwin was very helpful in organising dhows, dinner and bonfire in the dunes etc. We will definitely be back!
