If you are in Leon take the time to spend a few days at Las Peñitas at Nuevo NAYAL! It’s stunning and beautifully designed. Everything feels new! The spanish couple who set up this place are so kind and welcoming. They have created a true oasis to escape the heat of the city and I couldn’t have had a better 3 nights stay here to round off my trip in Nicaragua. The food is brilliant as well at the restaurant. I ate all my meals there as they were too good! And the staff went out of their way to help me with laundry and tours etc. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best place to stay in Las Penitas.

The pool need it a little more attention in maintaining the leaf out at least until the pool closing hours but other than that amazing pool.

The pool was very clean and the breakfast was delicious.

A nice hostel just a few blocks from the central park in Leon. The place had a quiet, pleasant vibe to it, which is what I was seeking. The main floor had five sleeping rooms, a combination of dorms and private rooms, I believe all with shared baths. The second floor had four more private rooms, each with its own private bath. The breakfasts were always good, with a choice of three types of breakfast. Once breakfast ended, guest were free to use the kitchen the rest of the day. Coffee and filtered water were also available throughout the day. If you're looking for a nice, pleasant stay in Leon, Hostal La Tortuga Booluda is a good choice.
