Big, comfortable, clean lodge! Beautiful views from living room & loft (some branches on the right tree could be taken down for better view from hot tub). Kitchen has EVERYTHING you'll need (perhaps bring salt & pepper). Comfortable beds, lots of hooks to hang your towels. A/C quiet and working well. No hair dryer on arrival, but a new one was promptly delivered within hours -> communication with hosts was quick and efficient! Location is superb, albeit slight traffic noise (which echoes in the mountains). The drive up to lodge is steep, but that is to be expected in the mountains ;) 4WD car is recommended. Yes, there are a few spider webs out of reach, and some black spots high on the bathroom ceiling - but this is a log home, and no one can reach this high up without using a tall ladder, plus some people don't use bathroom exhaust fans properly (turning off too soon after shower). Still one of the cleanest AirBnBs we have stayed at (I have high expectations) and would highly recommend to friends and family. The giant resin bees residing in the lumber outdoors are not aggressive or harmful to humans, we have spent a LOT of time outside and never felt attacked. In fact, they are quite entertaining to watch. You are right in the mountains and woods, so expect insects and creatures you usually don't see in the cities. Big plus: no mosquitoes anywhere. PS: Check out "The Chocolate Shoppe" in Bryson City for some really good ice cream :)

we travelled to the area to ride motorcycles; it is in the perfect location for anyone looking to do the same. it is located right off of moonshiner 28 which leads straight to tail of the dragon and multiple other roads that people desire to ride in the area.
For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
The Outland Chalet was the perfect place to spend our 23rd anniversary! We wanted a quiet location to focus on us….no outside distractions. It’s the perfect location for couples.
The location is terrible. Totally misrepresented in the advertisement of the property. We were willing to give it a try because we thought the cabin was clean and ok.
A quiet, medium-sized cabin with a bedroom, a kitchen and a living room, plus an outside balcony right next to a small river. Plenty of parking, pet friendly. A commercial zone with a supermarket and quite a few restaurants is about 10 minutes walk (2 minutes drive). The town of Cherokee is about 5 minutes drive and is interesting to visit. We saw a lot of elks near Oconaluftee river trail.
Firstly the front of house staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure we got their best possible offer. Our cabin was clean, comfy and well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal and enjoy it . The location was perfect with a private view onto the river . It felt secluded and yet shopping and other amenities were only a short walk away. We wished we could have stayed longer than one night . Very relaxing. Thoroughly recommend
The property was well equipped and comfortable. The living area and rooms were spacious.the location was quiet, private but near enough to the national park and Cherokee to have everything you need. Boots, the cat who lives on the porch, was an unexpected hut special surprise. Boots was very loving and cuddly and we enjoyed coming “home” to him. I loved the swing chair and rocking chairs on the porch. A place to keep coming back to. Communication was great and access was easy on check in. Lots of towels and storage space.
