I loved my stay in retoño, a little paradise in front of the ocean, run by some of the kindest people I’ve met. I had an unforgettable 2 days in there and they can cook an amazing vegetarian meals, there are filtered water as well.

They took us on a walk when we arrived to get our bearings, took us whale watching and organised and provided transport for a visit to the jungle plus more.

The place is new and with an exquisite zen feeling, surrounded by jungle, singing birds and ocean sounds. It invites you to connect with all the good energy and relaxes your spirit. Hale and Sergio are simply the best hosts you can have, very welcoming, informative about things to do and very heart warming people. They also cook like the gods! I work in the tourism industry and have seen a lot of places there. Don´t doubt it, this is a genuine treasure.

Irana Pacific Hotel has minimal carbon footprint, all power is generated through solar panels and batteries, yet has amazing WiFi. It’s super easy to get to the hotel, with flights to Nuquí from Medellin and Bogota, very affordable. The best part of Irana Pacific Hotel is the staff, special thanks to Marcela, Eber, and Diana, who made our stay so fun and memorable!

El Vijo is a paradise, I would especially recommend it for groups and couples. It is about a 20 mins walk to the next (very) small village, although the walk is not always possible due to the tide. Adolpho and Deude did an amazing job. The food was delicious and Adolpho very kind and helpful. As a solo traveller I would recommend somewhere else but for couples seeking tranquility or groups of friends looking for an amazing experience I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to my next stay there.
