We had a perfect stay from check in. We were welcomed by Nicky and shown to our lovely accommodation. The rooms in the lodge building were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern with a very powerful shower. Our evening meals and breakfast cooked by John were exceptional. The hotel is in a quiet location with countryside views and has plenty of free onsite parking.

Quietly situated in Ilfracombe, the family-run Avoncourt offers a bar and terrace with panoramic views over the seaside resort.

Lorraine and her staff are to be commended for their courtesy and professionalism. It's a beautifully well run facility. The room wasn't huge but what it lacked in size it made up for in cleanliness and comfort. The breakfasts are really good and freshly cooked to order unlike a lot of bigger places with half warm food from Bain Marie's. Also there is an excellent selection for breakfast and a great range of vegan options as well. We really liked the amount of locally sourced products on the menu. Lorraine really gets what it takes to me a great host and we not only have no hesitation in recommending it but we look forward to returning.

Away from traffic and noise of civilisation! Greenery, wildlife, birdsong. Like a little apartment all to yourself. Would happily stay here for longer. Prettily and tastefully decorated. Lovely hot shower, lovely linens and towels. Even juice and milk provided, although sadly, I cannot drink juice. The sun goes down on the window side and comes up on the door side, so a morning coffee on the step was a delight. Met Ruth, who was extremely helpful and friendly. Doesnt take long to get back on a main road to lots of places and some great little hamlets for exploring nearby.

Beautiful, cosy cabin! We were so comfortable and made so welcome. Thank you so much for the fresh milk and eggs, it was a lovely surprise when we arrived. Sitting out on the veranda in the evenings was so relaxing and peaceful. The only downside was we just stayed for 2 nights...we would have really loved to stay for longer!
