Plymouth is a really nice city steeped in history. I really enjoyed walking round The Hoe and the Barbican as well as Devonport Park. I stopped of in Plymouth for 3 days as a break whilst travelling to Falmouth to meat of with a group of friends who had flown to Newquay. A great time was had by all.
Torquay is a lovely base to explore the lovely South Hams district of South Devon. Beautiful boat trips and easy access to the lovely towns in the vicinity. Torquay has a lovely harbour with plenty of bars and cafes to watch the world go by.
Milton Abbott offers a good location in mid Devon being just North of Tavistock. Access to Dartmoor is easy and there are many National Trust properties within easy reach.
Nice quaint Devonshire village with 3 pubs a shop and post office. The kings arms pub has sky sports and bt sports and is dog friendly as is most of hartland, locals are great and so is the Rattler cider. A car is a requirement when staying in hartland.
Always a treat to visit the beautiful and rugged North Devon coast. Ilfracombe seems to be stuck in a bit of a time warp but that adds to the charm of the area. Added bonus if visiting during annual Victorian celebrations. Plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. Make a point of visiting “Verity” the Damien Hirst sculpture at the entrance to the harbour...breathtaking!
Torquay is beautiful. First time to Devon and I could quite happily relocate. So much to do and see especially with children. Lots of lovely walks and to many beaches to choose from. Cockington Park is a must it’s like the secret garden absolutely beautiful. Ferry over to Paignton and Brixham is a must especially if you have small children but it’s just as fun going without. Paignton zoo is another fab day out tho it is hilly. Crabbing at both Torquay and Brixham harbour is fun to. Meadfoot beach is brilliant very rocky but with two little climbers they absolutely looked using the wall as a climbing wall. They also do the best ice cream. 4 nights wasn’t enough for us, we have booked a week next year to come back and will be visiting with my sister to do some water sports over the summer.
We stayed in a Garden Room which was light, spacious, spotless and comfortably. Each room had a terrace and garden area separated from it's neighbours by shrubs and trees giving privacy and a feeling of seclusion. And yet the excellent Michael Caines restaurant was only a 30 second walk away. We visited RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Glassworks and toured the village gems along the North Devon coast culminating in the fabulous views across the Bristol Channel to Wales from Dunkery Hill.
+ Stunning picturesque harbour + Buses, park & ride, ferries. + Buller Arms fish and chips £7 each brilliant + Beer and a glass of wine for £5 at Weatherspoons - or beer and wine £10 at overpriced harbour restraunts. - Car parking a bit pricey like all of Devon. - BreakWater beach car park under repair - #12 bus service from Paignton was useless. Should be every 10 minutes but 3 would turn up together then on immediate return to Paignton bus depot they'd sign Out of Service
Perfect midweek break with brilliant facilities indoor outdoor pool and great gym. Easy walk into Barnstaple all on the flat app 15 mins. Ample parking. Perfect base to see North Devon Lyntom and Lynmouth were beatiful well worth a visit.
Nice on seafront & harbour area, not the cleanest of towns in devon a few homeless around the town and could be cleaned up and money spent in the town a little dated

The Devon Hotel was in the perfect location for our short stay. We had 2 executive rooms right next door and loved that we could park right outside our room with the use of our own terrace. My partner had to work at the hotel from the room whilst we were there and he found the facilities to do so excellent. All in all our stay was excellent from the location, to the food, to the comfort and facilities of the room to the staff. We would definitely recommend the Devon Hotel and will use for future visits to Exeter. Thank you

The apartment is beautiful -spacious and luxurious with a wide, comfortable (not too soft) bed and a balcony with a view over a pretty stream and th e beer garden. The village is small, quiet and attractive with a remarkable old church. There was a good range of beers in the Inn (I drank Avocet) and the food, especially the Bouillabaisse, was excellent. I didn’t drink wine (we had a fairly strict budget for our Devon trip) but heard several customers making highly positive comments.

Trefoil Guest House is the best in Devon. Bev & Ash were really lovely and run a fantastic friendly beautiful place. The best we have stayed at in Devon. The room was spotless bed so comfy excellent shower. The breakfast was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Better than most five star hotels that we have stayed in. Perfect location for good transport links to Paignton for steam railway and connections to everywhere in Devon or a short walk into Brixham and coastal paths.

We liked everything about this gem of a hotel in the Devon Countryside Food in the restaurant was to die for Staff were pleasant welcoming an friendly Apartment was spacious bright and spotlessly clean Visited a cousin only 2 miles from this location and I would most definitely use it again Not sure if it will be in the summer season as I can see this place being snapped up very quickly

Stunning location and a real gem in North Devon. Room was immaculate and well presented with the owners obvious enthusiasm. Hospitality and service was second to none and really stood out amongst the numerous hotels, b and b's/pensions and hostels, I have stayed at in the UK and abroad. Lots of small touches and finishes added to the overall charm and experience.

The whole experience at the hotel was excellent, the reception staff were spot on, the restaurant and bar staff could not do enough to help you and the room was comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody staying in that area of Devon. Everything is located on one floor which makes disabled access very good.

Room was clean and comfortable, with modern decoration and bathroom facilities. Whilst the purpose of travel was business, the hotel is located close to the city centre and other attractions, with plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. For business travellers, the hotel has parking and is close to the University and Devonport Docks.

The view from the balcony was outstandingly beautiful. The apartment was very nice, large with comfortable beds, powerful showers and a deep freestanding bath. The location was great despite us not driving, the bus stop and local shops were near. Overall would recommend this accommodation and Lynton as a base to explore North Devon.

Our hosts’ personal attention, care and attention to details far exceeded our expectations. We are glad to have travelled to this part of north Devon, and followed Mark’s recommendation to have dinner at the Wreckers’ Bar in Hartland Quay Hotel and enjoy the stunning view of the North Devon coast line and Atlantic Ocean.

A lovely "old English" hotel, in a beautiful location overlooking the river. Great service and breakfast. We felt as though we had been transported back in time several decades, yet the hotel had been tastefully refurbished with all mod cons. Conveniently located for visiting RHS Rosemoor / North Devon.

The friendly people, the accommodation and the cream tea that arrived unprompted. My favourite place to stay in Devon. Amazing apartments and kitchen facilities. The pool heated to 30 degrees. Didn't want to get out! Lovely walks into town kept me fit. Can't wait to return, thank you everyone.

Location is excellent for visiting the north Devon coast and Exmoor. Owners of the hotel really friendly and the 2 bed apartment was as big as our house! Breakfast, prepared with some amazing ingredients, was stunning

The bed was very comfortable, pretty much no outside noise. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The hotel is located a stones throw from Devonport station, plus has several bus routes going nearby.

I liked the location of the hotel and the friendliness of all the staff as well as the fact that local Totnes people also used the bar and restaurant. It all made for a very enjoyable stay in South Devon

A wonderful stay the food and ambiance of the hotel were excellent. The location is good for the South Hams coast, the access to the hotel is via narrow Devon lanes but well worth the effort
