We stayed there twice, one night at each end of our two-week holiday in Donegal. We found it a great place to spend our first night after a long flight to Dublin airport (which isn't too far away) and also for finishing off our trip in beautiful and relaxing surroundings. On previous trips to Ireland we'd stayed at other places in County Meath on our first and last nights and they had all been really good but Rathgillen Cabin has become our favourite. Peter, the host, is a very friendly and welcoming fella so we's love it if he'd come to stay with us at our home in Bulgaria some time. And the village has a handy shop, a great pub and a wonderful cafe where we had our final breakfast befor heading home. We were also delighted to discover that Nobber was the birthplace of the 17th Century blind harpist. Turlough O' Carolan whose music we've loved for a long time.

The hosts were unbelievably helpful kind helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Treats and little touches of thoughtfulness added to the whole experience.....fresh bread, eggs cheeses and wine was such a warm touch.

Really lovely accommodations with beautiful surroundings, which include the golf course, Killeen Castle, ruins of a church, and gardens. The accommodations are in the lodges with four bedrooms in each section with lounge/kitchenette area for use by all guests in the section. Very quiet. Enjoyable walk through the gardens to the clubhouse for meals, which were great. Or you can drive to the parking lot, if you prefer. Everything appears new. Would definitely stay again if we’re ever in Ireland again. We’re not golfers, but if you were, you’d be in seventh heaven. Enjoyable for non-golfers too.
