This is literally the house of waleed’s grandfather in the old village of Dana, which he renovated as a small hotel. The generosity and hospitality and warmth of the family is what makes it so special — I stayed only one night but left with so many wonderful memories. I speak some Arabic, so my particular experience may have been extra special—but I feel like anyone with a heart will feel at home. My day in Dana was honestly the highlight of my time in Jordan—not as flashy as Petra or wadi rum, but absolutely stunning and full of genuine and wonderful people. It is rustic — so if you really need a modern style hotel, this is not your place. But it was cozy and comfortable and warm and wonderful; what more could I hope for?

I At-Tafilah, 43 kilometer fra Shobak-slottet, ligger Ramses Tafilah Lodge نزل رمسيس الطفيلة, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en terrasse og en restaurant. The rooms have an amazing view and are very comfortable. The staff and owner were friendly, respectful and helpful. The location is close to some spectacular hiking trails. I highly recommend this place!
