And I totally loved how they decorated the cabin – you can just tell the host family has great taste and personality. Plus, they gave us awesome tips on what to do and where to go around here. We had a wonder time here and can't wait to come back in winter time again :)

The Bears House was an amazing place to stay for skiing in Furano. 20 minutes from the resort, it lets you stay out of the city in the countryside, but you re close enough to get groceries or dinner in town. Eating at the restaurant next door that Dan and Aya run was a highlight of our groups entire trip to Hokkaido. The hosts removed all snow and provided an amazing place for a ski trip destination.

It sits in an amazing location with views of the surrounding mountains. The house is very spacious and well equipped for living. We cooked our meals at the house, including the barbecue grill outside. The appliances and TV worked well, we watched a movie on Prime. The living room and bedrooms were comfortable. There are many nearby attractions in Furano and further north. We highly recommend this house.

All units feature air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Host Jimmy san was a delight. He looked after our family helping us gather ski rental and transferring us to and from the ski resort daily. We opted to eat in and the meals were delicious. The family onsen was clean and convenient.

There is also a kitchen in some of the units equipped with a fridge, a microwave, and a stovetop. This was my favorite place I stayed in all of Japan!! It felt like being in a mountain hut in the Alps - cozy, homey, and comfortable. There were lots of photos and cute quirky pictures/signs everywhere, and it just had a good feeling to it. The staff were INCREDIBLE, and were the highlight for me. They spoke basic English and I was able to have more in depth conversations with Google translate. They were so friendly and helpful - it made it sad to leave on my last day. The room was very comfortable and clean and had strong air conditioning (very important in Furano in the summer). I stayed in a room with multiple bunk-style beds and a couch, and it had a really wonderful view outside. The shared bathroom was always clean and the shower room had a small onsen in it! The location is very good if you have a car. It’s right by Farm Tomita and a 12 minute drive to Furano and a 25 minute drive to Biei. Plus of course, there’s a donkey!!
