I loved the homely atmosphere of the lodge, the warmth, the incredible views, the magical snowfall everyday. The common area had everything we needed including extra blankets, books, games, a keyboard…and we had access to water, tea and coffee. The communal fridge made it easy to store snacks, and there is a microwave which was incredibly helpful for me as I chose to eat dinner at the lodge. The convenience store down the road has a variety of food and snacks, and plenty of vegan options! The breakfast was amazing each day. Tim was able to make me vegan waffles and muffins everyday morning which was amazing as Tokyo was challenging to find good vegan food. The coffee was barista brewed, and it was second to none. I was so impressed, I had to have two coffees every morning. Craig (owner) was the main superstar this whole trip. He went above and beyond to answer all my questions, provide advice on what to do where to go, and did all the station pickups and drop offs anytime I needed to go out for the day. As it was a spontaneous trip I didn’t have appropriate footwear or extra jackets and gloves. However the lodge was able to provide all these for me to have a comfortable stay. I even built a snowman ⛄️ I will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later! Thank you Craig, and team!

Loved everything about the place and the staff were so friendly - felt like a large and luxurious home. Also they have they have most cute dog. It's about a 100 meters from the piste. Oh - oh, and the food is amazing, such a journey into Japanese during our 3 days and 3 dinners!

We had a great stay! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Check-in was smooth, and communication was quick and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. It was easy to get around by subway and bus.

Clean and modern property with private onsen, sauna and cold plunge. We booked for two nights which wasn’t enough. Next time, we will come for a week. Cons: It took us 50 minutes by bus from Odawara. We were exhausted by the time we reached the property. The nearest convenience store is 8 minute bus drive away or 25 minutes downhill walk.

My stay at Snow Monkey Hostel was truly amazing. It felt like a warm and welcoming place where you instantly feel at home. Everything is beautifully maintained, clean, and very comfortable, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The overall atmosphere in the hostel is relaxed and friendly, which makes it extra special. For me, this is without a doubt the best place in the village to stay. I would happily come back here again!
