From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed, and the level of care and service was outstanding. The location is simply breathtaking. Perched above Sri Lanka’s highest village, the views stretch endlessly over rolling farmland, where highland vegetables grow in neat rows, and behind the cabin lies a dense forest, home to local wildlife. Watching the landscape change with the light was magical. The cabin itself is a dream—spacious, spotless, beautifully designed, and instantly inviting. You arrive, take a deep breath, and feel at home. Everything is well-maintained, and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into every detail. What really stood out was the hospitality. Not only were we looked after with great care, but even our guide/driver was well accommodated. The owner was always there with a smile, ready to help, even suggesting a beautiful hiking route and making sure we were set up for a great walk. A personal highlight: my partner’s birthday fell during our stay, and to our surprise, she was gifted a beautiful birthday cake—a gesture that truly made the day extra special. We also dined at the cabin, and it was one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. The owner and his wife clearly have a passion for good food, and it was a pleasure to taste it. Communication was seamless from the start, with quick and easy WhatsApp contact, making everything effortless. Cabin 7000ft is more than just a stay—it’s a special place that lingers in your memory long after you leave. Highly, highly recommended!

Melford Nuwara Eliya is a beautifully maintained gem right beside the historic sluice gate of Lake Gregory. The architecture and interiors exude classic colonial charm—tastefully designed with elegant wooden floors, strong vintage-style beds, and lovely canopy curtains that echo a bygone era. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The bathroom had great water pressure, a powerful exhaust fan, and instant hot water—everything worked perfectly. The balcony opened to a serene view of the lake, adding to the peaceful ambiance. A small garden near the reception with chairs on request made for an ideal place to relax in the crisp mountain air. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality. The owner and staff were incredibly polite, warm, and attentive. They were always just a call away—offering tea and coffee generously, letting us use their kitchen, and always welcoming us with genuine smiles. I have stayed in many hotels across Asia, but it is rare to find such sincere and caring service. Highly recommended for a quiet, comfortable stay with exceptional hospitality.

Stayed here after stage 7 of the Pekoe trail. About a mile off trail but worth it, such kind owners, a beautiful room with a lovely view of the lake. They offered to wash my clothes, made a delicious dinner and breakfast, and gave me juice upon my arrival. Couldn’t have been better!

Rustique Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. The apartment, located above the family home, was spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. Our hosts were truly welcoming and helpful, offering great restaurant recommendations and serving a delicious homemade breakfast in their home each morning. They went above and beyond—accepting delivery of our train tickets, arranging transportation, and even packing us a to-go breakfast for our early morning hike to Horton Plains.

The Aayu Cottage nudi smještaj u gradu 'Nuwara Eliya' na 5,5 km od znamenitosti Hakgala Botanical Garden. We loved the decoration of the place (was colorful and fun) and the gorgeous views! Everything was spotlessly clean - even the little aquarium (that’s right, you’ll share your space with 3 beautiful goldfish). Strong wifi connection, and close to the main road (yet you’ll only hear bird songs).

The property is located on a quiet section of the lake, the only sound is birds and leaves in the wind. The views from the bedroom are spectacular. This is definitely a spot for nature lovers. Don’t be deceived by the odd little path to the house, it is well worth it. Priyanga, who manages the property is one of the most lovely people you will meet. Do not skip breakfast or dinner, he makes fantastic food. Priyanga goes the extra mile in assisting with arranging tuk tuks for the early morning climb. His trusty companion Tommy (the neighbours dog) was also exceptionally sweet. This has by far been our favourite stay in Sri Lanka, we actually extended an additional night. The new water heater actually generates hot water which is great after climbing Sri Padaya.
