Kele Yala is a boutique hotel situated in the dry zone in Kataragama. Jerome the property manager tries real hard to make your stay enjoyable. It’s a very peaceful place in a safari type environment. The pool is relaxing and enjoyable. The food was great. And since you are in the middle of nowhere it’s good to plan on having their food. It’s true it’s Sri Lankan food, so be prepared for limited options, but the quality and experience is incredible! We loved it! We felt completely safe eating and drinking what they served us. Which we didn’t always feel that way at other places we stayed at. Very thankful for that! We would totally come back again! It’s worth it for a calm getaway.

I can’t put into words just how beautiful and spectacular this place is. Honestly WOW! My rooms that had over 15 foot ceilings, everything made of stone, fans and air conditioning, the nature surrounding us, the Pool and the hotel grounds, the warm and amazing staff! My stay was short and I regret not staying longer. Just AMAZING and also the owner was there to answer all my questions and last minute demands. Don’t forget to tip the staff because they go over and beyond for you.

We had a wonderful stay. The hosts are lovely and made sure we felt like home here. The location is wonderful if you like peace and quiet. We had our own rented tuktuk, to go into town or to nearby beaches, which is necessary because it's a bit secluded. Which is lovely when you're here to chill, rest and enjoy the beach. The beach is only 2 minutes walking. It stretches for kilometers and is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in Sri Lanka. A bit further there's a spot where you can swim safely! The restaurant is very good, great variety of dishes for great prices. The cabanas are very comfortable and clean with comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms! All in all would definitely recommend this place and would definitely come back here!

The staff arranged everything on the safari days with packed breakfast & lunch, and were always accommodating throughout our stay. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and set amongst a beautiful landscape. We highly recommend this place for a stay in Yala

The house is brand new, very comfortable, and well equipped with air conditioning, which made our stay especially pleasant. One of the highlights is the beautiful view of the garden — sitting on the porch, you can observe birds, squirrels, and even water buffalos, which creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast is prepared by the family and is absolutely lovely. We especially appreciated the fresh fruits from their own garden, which added a personal and authentic touch to the experience. The hosts make you feel very welcome, and the peaceful surroundings make this place perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend staying here for a calm and refreshing experience.

Couldn’t speak strong English but always went above and beyond to make my partner and I feel welcome and comfortable. Sad to leave this place
