Kele Yala is a boutique hotel situated in the dry zone in Kataragama. Jerome the property manager tries real hard to make your stay enjoyable. It’s a very peaceful place in a safari type environment. The pool is relaxing and enjoyable. The food was great. And since you are in the middle of nowhere it’s good to plan on having their food. It’s true it’s Sri Lankan food, so be prepared for limited options, but the quality and experience is incredible! We loved it! We felt completely safe eating and drinking what they served us. Which we didn’t always feel that way at other places we stayed at. Very thankful for that! We would totally come back again! It’s worth it for a calm getaway.

I can’t put into words just how beautiful and spectacular this place is. Honestly WOW! My rooms that had over 15 foot ceilings, everything made of stone, fans and air conditioning, the nature surrounding us, the Pool and the hotel grounds, the warm and amazing staff! My stay was short and I regret not staying longer. Just AMAZING and also the owner was there to answer all my questions and last minute demands. Don’t forget to tip the staff because they go over and beyond for you.

The breakfast was wonderful, including fresh mango, pineapple and papaya from the lush garden. Rohan also brought us tea in the afternoon both days. The bed was super comfortable, with lovely bedding. A 15-minute walk or quick tuktuk to some of the most incredible quiet beaches I've ever seen. Would definitely recommend.

We had an excellent stay at Garnet Yala Beach. The property is very comfortable and inviting, the room is spacious and clean, and the adjacent kitchen is well equipped. The garden is bustling with greenery and cute animals that keep their distance but are fun to observe (iguanas, squirrels, birds). There is direct access to a dreamy beach you can enjoy pretty much on your own except for the occasional tourist, fisherman or friendly stray dog. A fancy restaurant with a pool is right next door. Gayan and his wife are fantastic hosts, very caring, attentive and generous, and complete the great experience.
