We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

With mountain views, Mamaq Tambo Lodge is set in Cocachimba and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. We loved everything in the lodge: the tastefully decorated and recently built Cabanas, with huge bathroom, super comfy beds and cute terrace with view on the Gocta cascade, set in a stunning well-kept garden. We could not use the natural water pool as we were in winter season, but it looked very inviting. The staff all from the local village is very friendly and they served one of the best breakfast in Perú.

I was so disappointed we spent only one night. Sergio and Jana operate a world class retreat. Service was beyond exceptional. Jana paid attention to every detail. She organized every single part of the trip and made sure that all of our needs were met. Sergio was creative, engaging, super helpful with any of our plans and made sure that our retreat was at one with nature. There is the option to have your dinner prepared there and I would recommend it to anyone. All of the food is farm to table and much was grown on site. There are parrots that are outside the window in the morning and it is a terrific place to relax. Much of the art and ceramics were made by the hosts. They are high-quality and for those of you who can carry some home, you should. The rooms were perfectly appointed and I now want to bring my family there for an extended stay.
