We had an amazing stay at Casa Kukama, which is located a bit outside of Iquitos in the small village of Santo Tomas. We loved the authentic Amazon experience we had together with the hosts. Pablo and Lorena were incredibly welcoming and we learned a lot from them. The lodge is very cozy.

A jungle paradise just outside of busy Iquitos. The eco-lodge is on a beautiful property full of birds, plants, nature sounds, etc. and the pool is such a nice way to relax and cool off. It's very easy to get to via shared car aka colectivo. Some Spanish would definitely help, but with a sense of aventure and Google translate, you'd be fine!

Intillama Jungle Lodge EIRL cuenta con vistas al jardín, está ubicado en Paucarpata y tiene un restaurante, servicio de traslado gratis, bar, jardín y terraza. Las habitaciones eran muy espaciosas y estaban muy limpias. Dormimos genial escuchando el ruido de la selva y lo gustosa que era la cama. Hicimos una gran cantidad de actividades como la pesca de pirañas, recorridos nocturnos y diurnos por la selva donde observamos algunos animales. Éramos mi pareja y yo solos por lo que nos trataron como una familia y estuvimos muy a gusto. Sin duda fue una experiencia muy bonita, educativa y que superó gratamente nuestras expectativas. Merece mucho la pena

El Jacamar Lodge Expedition está ubicado a orillas del río Amazonas, en medio de la selva y a 120 km del centro de Iquitos. Este hostel rústico ofrece una variedad de actividades en el río y la selva.... Danny was the best tour guide. He took good care of us and gave us the best jungle experience according to our needs. We saw so many different animals (sloth, baby alligator, piranhas, dolphins, birds, wolf spider, firefly and many others) during a short stay, thank you Danny! Didn’t got mosquito bites at the lodge at all, (but be prepared at night in the jungle🤫). Last but not the least, the food at the lodge was fresh and simply delicious (I tried some fancy restaurants at Cusco but I liked the food at the lodge more!)

The Amazon Muyuna Lodge is an ecolodge in the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Communal Reserve , situated on the Amazon River shore, 3 hours from the centre of Iquitos. The location was amazing. Great to have so much wildlife around you. Meandering down the Amazon river each day was so relaxing and peaceful. Loved spotting all the sloths, monkeys and various birds from the boat and also when we did a trail in the jungle. Seeing an ant eater up close climbing a tree was a highlight as well as the pink dolphins. Our guide , Larissa was excellent.

Este hostel está situado a orillas del río Amazonas, en la Reserva Comunal Yanamono, a 80 km de Iquitos. Las instalaciones son muy completas, el personal es muy agradable, discreto y atento. Las excursiones estuvieron muy bien organizados, completas y puntuales. Los traslados en lancha son muy cómodos. Nuestro guía fue Antoni. Un tío encantador, resolvió todas nuestras dudas, nos generó muchísima confianza en la selva, las explicaciones de animales y plantas eran completas y muy entendibles.

El Milía Amazon Lodge se encuentra en Iquitos y ofrece vistas al río, restaurante, recepción 24 horas, bar, jardín y terraza. Todos los alojamientos tienen patio con vistas al jardín. Everything, the lodge is in the Amazon. The food is excellent, the staff are amazing. It’s clean, the pool was great. Surroundings and to sit in the garden looking at the Amazon river watching the dolphins you couldn’t ask for more. Also the excursions laid on were out of an adventure novel.

Libertad Jungle Lodge ofrece una terraza en Yucuruche. En el complejo de cabañas, los huéspedes pueden pescar y hacer canotaje cerca o aprovechar el jardín. The staff are exceptional. My guide Joel came and picked me up from the airport and took me to the lodge in safety, which is approximately 2-3 hours travel. During my stay I felt completely safe as a solo traveller. The food was fresh and amazing every time with freshly made juices from local fruit in every meal. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms feature your own balcony with an incredible view. Regarding the facilities, the lodge is located on the river and is built with natural materials, so of course, expect to see insects. You are in the jungle after all! The mosquito nets do a really good job though, so I didn't have any trouble sleeping. Expect to hear wildlife noises from your room, although I quite enjoyed waking up with the sound of birds every day. The activities were super organised, and they offer a big variety for day and night experiences. All of them are wildlife experts, you get a personal guide, a personalised tour and a boat driver at all times. Don't forget to tip your guides! They will totally deserve it as well. They try their hardest to make your experience an amazing one! If you are crazy about wildlife, I recommend Joel. He could spot all sorts of animals from a distance, so I got to see a lot of different species. Both, with Wilson, the canoe driver, they had amazing coordination. I totally recommend the lodge and I would do it all over again. When you get there, you will see there are other lodges as well, which seemed to target tourists more, but not sure either. I am happy I chose this one and got to support their community!
