The whole family has welcomed us warmly and did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was big and very delicious! The owner took time to tell us about their habits, life and floating islands. What is more they arranged a free transfer to the island for us as well. We will have the best memories of the family and this place. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful place runned by the most beautiful and nicest people on the floating islands ! It was great adventure to visit Winston, Elizabeth, their kids and lovely dog Kira! Very good accommodation! A lot of place inside the house and resting areas outside! Great food and really really big portions! Wine and beer available if you ask the hosts. So you will not be hungry and thirsty for sure. Winston was arranging the transports for us , also the trips for Uris and taquile islands. We want to recommend this place for everyone who is wondering about staying on titikaka lake

They sustain their small floating island by harvesting reeds from the lake and by running this remarkable B&B with care, pride, and generosity. Mornings are magical. Sunrise over the lake is exquisite, the water often perfectly still, and the birdlife abundant. We found ourselves slowing down completely — reading books, braving the cold lake waters during the warmest part of the day, and playing cards together in the cozy dining hut. The peace here is profound. Don Mario offers a two-hour boat tour through the village, guiding guests through the reed beds while explaining how generations of Uros have used these reeds to cook, build, and navigate the lake they hold sacred. It was deeply moving and fascinating to learn about a way of life that feels both ancient and fragile, yet still very much alive. Both Mario and Lea are also gifted artisans. Don Mario creates drawings that beautifully capture the lake and its culture, while Mama Lea transforms these designs into pillow covers, table runners, and wall hangings that are truly lovely and meaningful keepsakes. A few practical notes: the showers are gravity-fed and solar-heated, which means lower water pressure and the hottest water in the late afternoon. The midday sun is intense, so wide-brimmed hats and sunscreen are essential. Finally, a word about Uros itself. Before arriving, I read many reviews dismissing the islands as a tourist trap rather than a genuine community. While tourism clearly plays an important role in the local economy, it is equally clear that this is a real, living community with deep roots. The Uros have existed here for countless generations, passing down knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship. They are skilled fishermen and masters of using reeds for nearly everything imaginable.

It was my dream to live on the floating islands of Lake Titicaca. Walter and his family's lodge is one of the best places to live comfortably and observe the real life of the Uros people. I was worried that it would be cold. but the living conditions pleasantly surprised me - hot water, a large bed with duvets, huge windows through which the sun heats the room during the day and gas heaters for the evening. Walter's mother cooked delicious, fresh and healthy food for us. Walter took us on a boat ride every day and helped organize all the excursions. To work online, we needed the Internet, and in this part of the lake the mobile signal is strong enough to work. Because on the islands that are farther from the coast, the Internet connection is weak. Great experience!

An amazing unique experience, would definitely recommend! It was super cool to stay so close to nature, yet in a really comfortable conditions. The hotel staff was super nice to us and even organized a private tour of the Uros island for no extra charge! Keep in mind that the meeting point with boat is not the main port of Puno, but a smaller Kalapajra port. Be sure to text them in advance to confirm the meeting point and arrival time for the boat to pick you up without delays.

Situated in Puno, Titicaca Aruntawi Lodge Peru offers accommodation with views of the lake, and breakfast included every day. The rooms had a beautiful view of the lake and nearby green mountain. The beds were comfortable with an outdoor deck day bed as well. The night was cold, but plenty of blankets kept us warm. The food was fresh and tasty and each family member contributed to our wonderful stay. Transportation was arranged by the host from our hostal by taxi to the port and then a boat took us for a short ride to the hotel within Uros Island.

This was hands down one of the nicest experiences I've ever had. Felix is such an amazing, kind, generous, hospitable, helpful and caring owner, who treated us like a family. He shared so much incredible knowledge that helped us to understand the local culture, history and community. He helped us to book a tour through the lake and offered us a delicious dinner and breakfast. It was indeed a bit colder at night but we received bottles of hot water that kept us warm through the night but just pack one extra sweater and you'll be fine. Also, the hot water is running in the shower without any trouble. The place is incredibly calm, quiet and peaceful. I literally have no regrets deciding for this amazing experience.
