I had such a fantastic experience staying at Paje Emerald Escapes! The villas are absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and a true slice of paradise. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. A huge thank you to Leslie, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. From arranging airport transfers to organizing tuk-tuk shuttles, she was constantly helpful, professional, and incredibly sweet. Her kindness really made me feel at home. I’d also love to give a special shoutout to Salim for helping me out when a few geckos made their way into the villa. He came over right away, was extremely helpful, and so kind throughout. I would absolutely stay here again—not just for the stunning villas, but because the people here genuinely care. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Paje!

Beautifully built rustic lodge in the middle of a green bush forest with many majestic baobab trees. The monkeys are a little shy but very active in the late afternoon, visiting with us on the main terrace... Absolutely non threatening, just interested. We were lucky enough to see a bush baby who had come to find its dinner just as we were talking about our precious bush baby we had raised ourselves.... Such a wonderful surprise. The bar was well stocked and the food stunning.... Excellent chef who understands seafood. Overall we loved our 2 nights at monkey mountain.... Exactly what we were hoping for.

The building is in Jambiani village which is famous for its sweet, hospitable locals, and great beaches! Supermarkets and shops are all nearby. Check in: Thomas the owner who oversees things personally, was kind enough to arrange for an early check in despite the short notice. He’s easygoing and friendly to deal with. Easy and straightforward process. They accept cards without giving you the looks (many properties in Jambiani don’t happily accept cards). You can use Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. The place itself: this is a brand new building with great finishing. The owner takes pride in his trees and the villa is surrounded by greenery inside it. There’s a pool, kitchen with a big new fridge for guests to store food, shower facilities next to the pool. There’s also a terrace upstairs with huge area for people who wanna have some privacy or do calls or just relax. It offers a nice 360 view of the village on all sides. The rooms: the rooms are quite modern and they are practically designed and equipped with everything you want. The ac was working perfectly and it was a relief in hot afternoons and nights (many properties don’t have ac or it doesn’t work). Really comfy beds (probably the best bed and mattresses I slept on in Zanzibar), a safe which is quite handy, a little desk if you have work, big washroom with great water pressure, everything in the room was brand new and working fine. The internet: I had couple of meetings and was suffering from the poor internet in other proper I. The wifi really saved me. The experience: the owner who was also staying at the property is warm and makes sure to check in on you and see if you need anything (the stay itself, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

Selma is a worm host and the breakfast is close to a garden ceremony with good fruits and enough to eat. The village itself seemed to us peaceful. Tourists are not yet overehelming the traditional lifestyle. The fishermen and the beaching till sunset go well along. We regretted that we couldn’t stay longer.
