With Paje Beach reachable in a few steps, Ananda Beach Hotel provides accommodation, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a private beach area. Very nice hotel. Delicious breakfast, clean and nice room with AC and very friendly staffs. I can directly go to the beach from my room and also access to the hotel pool. The receptionits Mr.Shedy and Mr.T helped me a lot. I want to come back again.

We stayed in this small hotel in Zanzibar and really loved it. It feels very local, natural and simple, but in the best way — cozy and real. The view to The Rock Restaurant is beautiful and around are many small boutique places and cafés. From here you can take a small boat to see the starfishes or go to Blue Lagoon. We saw dolphins in the sea very close to the shore! You can also walk to nearby cafes and small hotels. Having a car is recommended. The beach here is quiet: no sellers, no dancers and no people offering services. Nothing disturbs your rest. The owner is a warm and kind person that you feel like home. This is the real Zanzibar not like chain hotels. The place has its own vibe and soul. It is definitely not for people who want very luxury hotels with shiny things because everything here is very natural and simple. It is for those who want to feel the real local life. We already know that will want to come back.

With Matemwe Beach reachable in a few steps, Utupoa provides accommodation, a restaurant, free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. One of the best hotel stays ever! Strongly recommend Joyce and team for your holiday to Zanzibar, everyone made us feel right at home. The hotel was incredibly cozy and homely, with a traditional, beachy feel and beautiful garden and pool. There is lots of space to rest and relax with direct access to the beach. Dinner is served family style each evening - it was wonderful to get to know the other guests and the team was able to cater to our dietary restrictions. The hotel staff helped us organise several different activities and excursions on the island once we arrived, as well as airport transfers and drivers whenever needed. Communication was very smooth.

Every detail feels intentional and beautifully designed (handcrafted wooden furniture, colorful kitenge fabrics in the interiors looks gorgeous) . Dining at the overwater restaurant with sweeping ocean views felt absolutely magical and made every meal special. The tuna burger was next-level, this fish was literally in the ocean just hours ago. On top of that we being surprised with a complimentary boat trip to the reef which was incredibly thoughtful . Boasting an outdoor swimming pool and views of pool, Paje Emerald Escapes is a recently renovated chalet situated in Paje, 600 metres from Paje Beach. Our stay was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We arrived late at night, and the key was safely secured in a lockbox with a code sent to us in advance — which made check-in completely stress-free. When we entered the accommodation, it was spotless and even more spacious than we expected. The pool was always clean and well maintained, and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. A special thank you to Lesley, who went above and beyond to help us when our first flight got cancelled. She arranged everything in the background, allowing us to enjoy a truly stress-free stay. A thoughtful detail we really appreciated was the luggage scale — very useful after buying many gifts for family and friends. We also received great assistance with arranging local transport such as tuk-tuks and taxis, thanks to Lesley and Emmanuel’s helpful advice. The compound is well secured, which gave us extra peace of mind. Overall, this was one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in. If I travel to Zanzibar again — which I definitely will — I won’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

With sea views, MONKEY MOUNTAIN LODGE is situated in Mtende and has a restaurant, luggage storage space, bar, garden and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Beautifully built rustic lodge in the middle of a green bush forest with many majestic baobab trees. The monkeys are a little shy but very active in the late afternoon, visiting with us on the main terrace... Absolutely non threatening, just interested. We were lucky enough to see a bush baby who had come to find its dinner just as we were talking about our precious bush baby we had raised ourselves.... Such a wonderful surprise. The bar was well stocked and the food stunning.... Excellent chef who understands seafood. Overall we loved our 2 nights at monkey mountain.... Exactly what we were hoping for.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, yasmin ecohouse zanzibar is situated in Kizimkazi. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. We stayed at the best place in Kizimkazi village! Yasmin was amazing – she took care of everything for us, from organizing tours to making sure we didn’t miss the whales. It’s definitely worth asking her about anything you need. The house is cozy and pampering. In the mornings, we ordered delicious breakfast from Yasmin’s restaurant. We felt completely safe – there’s a guard on-site 24/7. The house is surrounded by forest, and the moment you enter the path leading to it, it feels like stepping into a fairytale. No doubt we’ll be coming back at the end of our trip. Thanks to the whole team – and big thanks to Mama Yasmin!
