It’s hard to leave this place not only for the location but most of all for its people: everyone at the hotel was friendly, service oriented and always out to make my stay as perfect and blissful as possible. From Said and Shedrack at reception, to the reservations team accommodating me last minute, to the restaurant staff and the hotel management and Kite team. Leaving with a full heart and will be back here on my next trip to Paje.

Employees were nice. It was very clean. The toiletries were nice. They provided a free laundry service on our arrival, that was great. The lunch delivered to our room on arrival, was the best meal we had on the island. We scheduled two in-room massages and the massages were great! I appreciated how security did not allow anyone to hang out in front of our room on the beach. They were very strict on privacy, we enjoyed being able to hang out on the patio and the pool in peace. There was a beach dinner as well with buffet meals, that was private and for the resort guests only. The buffet food was great as well as the live band. They had bikes that we borrowed (for free) and rode around the area. They have kayaks and beach supplies (free) for guests to use as well. Unfortunately we had a delay in our flight so we missed a night of our booking, they were fully booked so we weren’t able to extend but it our stay was well worth the money. As someone who can always find something to complain about, I had zero complaints lol.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Utupoa. After three nights, we really felt like it was our home away from home. The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. What a wonderful way for our family to get to know a corner of Zanzibar and to unwind from our adventures. Thank you, Joyce!

Here are the key reasons why: 1. Exceptional Rooms & Design Spacious, beautifully decorated rooms with stunning views from every villa. The interiors feel modern, stylish, and thoughtfully curated. Everything about the space feels premium and comfortable. 2. Beautiful Pool & Common Areas The pool is gorgeous, relaxing, and perfectly maintained. All common areas are aesthetically pleasing, serene, and designed for comfort. 3. Restaurant-Level Food & Outstanding Cocktails The food exceeded every expectation. Even with All-Inclusive, you’re not getting buffet-style meals—you’re dining à la carte, choosing dishes from a full menu, prepared fresh by the chef. The cocktails were equally impressive: balanced, creative, and delicious. 4. Incredible Staff & Service This is where the hotel truly shines. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. You can feel that both management and the team truly care about their guests—and that level of sincerity is rare and priceless. 5. A Five-Star Experience (Even if It Says Four) I’m honestly surprised this is rated as a four-star hotel. The service, design, food, and overall experience easily match a five-star level. I would return without hesitation. This place is truly special.

Zanzibar by ligger 37 km unna. 5-nights stay in this perfect place to chill and relax, with plenty of options on the beach to hide in the shade from the cruel equatorial sun (beach beds, hammocks etc.). It was our choice to go lazy all the way, but perhaps next time (there's definitely going to be a next time) we're gonna take advantage of the kitesurf school next door or the excursions (ie. snorkeling trips) on offer - maybe it's also possible to take some fishing trip? Cocktails are great and all the food we had was super tasty (as I'm writing this, I'm drooling at the thought of those seafood soups). The staff is very attentive and warm.

A warm welcome with fresh coconut water beautifully decorated with a flower 👌. The room is perfect, and the ocean view is absolutely amazing and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful the food and drinks are always delicious 😋 . I highly recommend this place

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the privacy, the beautiful open design, and the overall peaceful atmosphere of the villa. The private plunge pool was a highlight—perfect for relaxing at any time of day while feeling completely immersed in the natural surroundings.

I Mtende ligger MONKEY MOUNTAIN LODGE, som har en restaurant, bar, en hage, bagasjeoppbevaring og terrasse. Boenhetene har utsikt over sjøen. Such a relaxing enviroment and amazing views! It was lovely to watch the sunrise from your own terrace and the sunset at the restaurant while enjoying a great meal. The atmosphere at the lodge felt authentic and very cozy. The staff was kind and especially Suzy was great thanks to her good english and warm personality. This lodge is definitely unique and really stands out from typical resorts! A big recommendation by two people who have seen a lot of accommodations from all around the world.

Sabali Lodge ligger 400 meter gåavstand fra stranda i Jambiani, i et området unna masseturismen. Rommene var komfortable, utstyr med egne bad og balkonger. Takterrassen byr på fine solnedganger. Er man heldig kan man observere apekatter og høre Zanzibar uglen derifra. Thomas og teamet hans bidro til et superfint opphold. Huset vaskes daglig og sjåfføren Saleh tar en med på tur til andre områder på øya mot betaling. Han videreformidler og forhandler pris med lokale guider om ønskelig.
