This home was amazingly beautiful, large, with plenty of room to accommodate any family. We had children who enjoyed the multi-changeable game table (soccer, pool, hockey table). The kitchen was also a very nice touch to be able to cook some food instead of buying out the entire time. The lanai was also a plus for entertaining however we didn't use it due to the cold weather outside. Speaking of cold weather, the house also came with heaters for those who get cold easily. I love the cold but my family loves to stay warm. I was able to enjoy the coolness and Pretty much every room has its own adjustable heating mechanism so my family could stay warm as well. Parking was nice and easy. I love how we could use the keypad code for entrance instead of keys so there was no worry to lose the keys. Further more, the host kept in touch with me through email. I am very appreciative for her availability to our needs and to make sure everything was going smoothly and to see if there were any questions or concerns we had. She also sent a little email on how to leave the house, what we needed to do and what was not needed to be done before leaving. Additionally, my husband and i came to Oregon for our honeymoon and had numerous activities we wanted to do by ourselves plus with family. The host was very accomodating with our check in and out needs which was also a plus. Overall, this home and host exceeded our expectations and would definitely recommend staying here, we will definitely stay again as well as share with family and friends to stay there as well if they take a trip to Florence. Featuring a garden, terrace and views of mountain, Wheeler on the Bay Lodge and Marina is located in Wheeler, 29 km from Haystack Hill State Park. The Wheeler on the Bay Lodge is a surprisingly perfect location. I was expecting a motel and got a small resort, quiet, serene, beautifully located next to the marina. The rooms are big compared to what you normally get at a motel, very clean (as in VERY), well equipped with functioning appliances. My room had a small deck in the back which was a really nice place to just rest a bit and take in the scenery. They have a dock and you can apparently rent canoes to move around the Nehalem River (which I didn't do), get on a boat for some fishing and while I was having my coffee early in the morning I could see some lucky anglers pull sizeable fish from the river. Bonus points: there is an excellent restaurant right next door, the Salmonberry. Great food you probably wouldn't expect in a place like Wheeler with "al fresco" right on the banks of the Nehalem. Spectacular.
