The warmth and friendliness of the staff were remarkable. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay, adding a personal touch that made a significant difference. The vast grounds of the lodge are an invitation to immerse oneself in nature. Strolling among the beautiful plants and enjoying the breathtaking sunsets were some of my favorite moments. It's a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection, allowing one to truly disconnect and recharge. The breakfast served at Caliu Earthship Ecolodge was a delight. It stood out as one of the best meals I had during my three-month journey in Uruguay. The quality, taste, and presentation of the food were exceptional, reflecting the lodge's commitment to providing a top-notch culinary experience. It's just a 10-minute drive to Colonia del Sacramento making it conveniently accessible while still offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. . In conclusion, Caliu Earthship Ecolodge is a one-of-a-kind accommodation that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Colonia del Sacramento.

Offering garden views, El Legado Wine Lodge in Carmelo offers accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. We spent three wonderful days in the El Legado wine lodge. The bodega rightly calls itself a boutique wine lodge. Only 14,000 bottles are produced per hectare each year, of the Tannat, Syrah and a blend of the first two varieties. The guest house has four very spacious and modern rooms, with seating on both sides. The newly built swimming pool with comfortable loungers around the pool in the middle of the vines deserves special mention. The staff also deserves special mention, who are always friendly and helpful. Federico, the manager of the complex, looked after us with humor and a lot of knowledge. He showed us around the wine cellar and the rest of the complex. The highlight of the stay was the wine tasting with a wonderful platter of delicacies. The whole thing was only surpassed by the asado. A selection of meat that is second to none was served to us right by the fireplace.

The accommodation is spotless, well-maintained, and furnished with great attention to detail. Nothing is missing. The breakfast was wonderful, and we enjoyed it each morning in the spacious garden. Two bicycles are available for exploring the surroundings. Aldo, the owner, is very friendly and supported us with many valuable tips and help in organizing our activities.
