We stayed at Protea Cottage, which is well-equipped and comfortable. It's located at the end of the R600, near the entrance to Monk's Cowl area of the Drakensberg. You can access many nice trails directly from the cottage. The view from the porch is glorious, especially at sunset. Cathkin Park is a great location, and we easily filled our 6 days there. We went ziplining, hiking, swimming in the streams, horseback riding at uShaka, and saw the Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey show. We unfortunately missed whitewater rafting and the Boys Choir show. Leslie communicated thoroughly ahead of time about check-in and other details so there were no surprises. We also loved that it was off the grid, but with the solar panels, who noticed? The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a camp toaster and a French press for coffee. Lindsey and Brett don't live on site, but they stopped by a couple of times, and they were friendly and helpful. Their caretakers were there daily and kept everything in good order.

Tugela River Lodge se nachází na břehu řeky Tugela, 22 km severně od Wintertonu a 13 km od přírodní rezervace Spioenkop a muzea Winterton. Nabízí ubytování s možností vlastního stravování. We loved this location - quaint, comfortable, and welcoming. The setting and the cabin were fabulous. Julian, our host was great. The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and roomy, and the beds were comfortable. The wood-heated hot tub was fun. Guest could rent bikes, buy firewood, and 'shop' in the farm stall for fresh eggs, honey, wonderful homemade freezer meals, and much more There are several trails right out the front door that enable you to hike or mountain bike to a reserve with zebras and giraffes. We all wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks Julian!

Riverbend Chalets (Gold Crown Resort) se nachází v malebné zahradě Drakensberg a může se pochlubit výhledem na svěží krajinu a majestátní pohoří Drakensberg. I love the fact that there is games inside the facility. And karaoke night was very entertaining and we very much enjoyed ourselves

Duck and Elsabe are a beautiful couple. They have put some much love and attention to the place and also made us feel like home. We enjoyed their beautiful garden, so so special it was!! And after our stay they also helped us with the flat tires that we had. Really appreciate all the help and the stay. Thankyou very much 😊

Very welcoming and told us about the area and told us lots of fascinating stories about his life. Highly recommend the cottage, it had everything we needed and was close by to a Spar to get food. We went to the Sani Pass and Lesotho extended trip which is a must when you're staying in the area. Barry can organize this for you!
